The Ontario Mutual Insurance Association (OMIA) is the trade association for 37 independent mutual insurance companies, known as Ontario Mutuals. Each of these is 100% Canadian and owned by its policyholders, and each is more than a century old. OMIA’s function is to share resources, discuss issues of common concern, and explore opportunities for growth and development among our member companies. At OMIA, we enable our member companies to achieve and maintain a high level of excellence, by providing leadership through education, training, marketing, and support services. As a result, Ontario Mutuals are among the most financially secure insurance networks in the world. We are a true community of mutual fellowship and respect.

On Tuesday, March 5th 45 Ontario Mutuals delegates participated in our annual Queen’s Park Day in support of our continuing investment in good government relations and increasing mutual awareness among MPPs. MPP-Guelph and Green Party Leader, Mike Schreiner, sponsored our group, and we welcomed over 35 MPPs and many more members of staff to our luncheon reception. A special thank you to Premier Doug Ford who invited us to his offices and spent time sharing his general outlook and views with the group. This day continues to provide us an important opportunity to meet with our provincial leaders and meaningfully discuss issues that impact our policyholders and community members. We sincerely appreciate all who took the time to connect and discover the mutual difference.
