This week we had 2 big things on our minds: 1.     Microsoft Co-Pilot: Salma forced Luiz to turn on Microsoft Co-Pilot. Essentially Chat GPT embedded into the O365 Suite of products. Might be too soon to say, but feels like a bit of a game changer. Feels kinda like going from 4 limbs to 6.  2.     How to detect initiative: Salma and Luiz exchanged origin stories and discovered that they both agree that the ability to take initiative is the core competency that they both value the most when looking at new hires. Now if only there was a smell test.  In the olden days one could just hold in-person interviews and put a banana peel in the doorway to see who picks it up. So now what? Never a dull moment over here! Happy long weekend folks! #sageintacct

Hi Everyone, TGIF. Just wanted to share with you some of the thoughts that have been on our mind this week at nuvemXP. We are a Sage Intact reseller and professional services firm that aims to help financial teams move away from manual work towards meaningful work. We are proud of what we do and how we serve our customers. But we also know that we are not the only ones in this space. There are many other companies that offer similar solutions, some of them even more established and well-known than us. So how do we deal with the competition? Do we see them as enemies or as potential allies? Do we ignore them or do we engage with them? At nuvemXP, we believe that there is enough room for everyone in the market. We think that there is a lot we can learn from each other, and that collaboration can benefit both parties. That's why we have been thinking about how to make friends with competitors who are similar to us, but who maybe don't fish in the exact same pond. Maybe they target a different geographic region (shout out to our UK VAR homies), or a different industry, or a different customer segment. Maybe they have a different business model, or a different vision, or a different culture. Maybe they have some strengths that we don't have, or some weaknesses that we can help them with. How do we find them and how do we make friends with them? That's the question we are asking ourselves, and we would love to hear your ideas. Have you ever reached out to a competitor and established a friendly relationship? How did you do it and what were the benefits? What are the challenges and risks involved? What are the best practices and tips for making friends with competitors? Please share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below. We are looking forward to learning from you and growing together.

🚨 Exciting News! 🚨 In 2017, my wife and I arrived in Canada, and like many immigrants, we started our journey working minimum-wage jobs. For a couple with substantial experience back home, it was a complete reset. It wasn’t easy. Moving from roles at big tech companies like IBM to entry-level positions requires patience and a belief that one day you'll have the chance to prove your worth.   If you’re a fan of Modern Family, you might remember Gloria's line: "Do you even know how smart I am in Spanish?" That hit home for me. Not only do you have to prove yourself, but you also have to do it in a new language.   Honestly? I never cared. If you’ve worked with me, you know I love talking with people, presenting, and showing up at events. My accent is part of who I am in Canada, and I’m incredibly proud of it.   But that’s not why I’m posting today. The real announcement (which some of you may already know) is that I am now a Partner at nuvemXP. Together with Salma Kaida and Damon Clooney, MBA, we’ve decided to bring fresh energy to the traditional ERP industry. We’re not reinventing the wheel; we’re just swapping out the tires for a more modern, tech-savvy version. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to share this news. More than anything, I love what we’re doing and how we’re doing it. To me, that’s already a success.   A huge thank you to everyone who helped us get here 💛 Obrigado!
