The future of student success in higher education 🚀
About us
Nimbus Learning works with the student success services at universities and colleges, to provide an end-to-end platform for easier access, more efficient management and receiving program insights for programs including tutoring, mentorship and study groups. Organizations that have partnered with Nimbus Learning see on average 52% in time saved for administrators managing these programs and up to a two and half fold increase in student usage. 97% of students rate sessions booked and facilitated through the Nimbus platform 4.5 out of 5 stars or higher and report increases in grades. The Nimbus platform can utilize anonymized data points such as current course grades, class attendance, demographics and more to develop a unique predictive score of academically at-risk students. This allows administrators directly approach at-risk students instead of relying on them to seek help when it may be too late. This feature allows Nimbus to help schools better target at-risk students and significantly improve student retention. Learn about how Nimbus can work for you at www.nimbuslearning.com

The article discusses the importance of post-secondary education (PSE) as a means of social mobility and examines the impact of tuition policies on access to professional programs. It highlights how tuition differentiation may perpetuate social inequities by disproportionately excluding disadvantaged groups from lucrative career paths. The author calls for federal oversight of PSE and the elimination of tuition differentiation to ensure equal access and reduce financial barriers for all students. Tutoring can play a crucial role in supporting students from marginalized backgrounds, providing academic assistance and guidance to help them succeed in their studies and navigate the complexities of higher education. By addressing educational disparities and promoting inclusive access to PSE, tutoring can contribute to breaking the cycle of economic inequality and fostering social mobility. https://lnkd.in/gUY5sz7p #postsecondaryeducation #academic #university #nimbuslearning #college

The Ontario government's announced $1.3 billion in funding for post-secondary institutions, aiming to address financial challenges resulting from the federal cap on international students. Officials from Fleming College and Trent University welcome the funding but emphasize the need for more details and additional support. While Trent University acknowledges the benefits of the announced funds, students remain cautious, expressing concerns about underlying issues like food insecurity and housing. Canada has implemented a national cap on international student intake, aiming for a 35% reduction over the next two years, announced by Immigration Minister Marc Miller. The measures, declared temporary, are intended to maintain sustainable levels of temporary residence and halt further growth in student numbers. Exemptions are granted for graduate-level and elementary/secondary school students. The cap's application will vary by province, with discussions underway with provinces like Ontario and British Columbia, and prospective students must now provide an attestation letter from the relevant province or territory when applying for a Canadian study permit. Education at the University of Pennsylvania, the importance of shifting focus from driving enrollments to driving completion in higher education is emphasized. Finney highlights the economic and competitive significance, addressing the challenge of the U.S. lagging behind in educational attainment compared to other countries. She believes a focus on retention and success is unlikely to negatively impact enrollments, as students appreciate institutions with clear plans for degree pathways. To address the issue of 31 million Americans with some college credit but no credential, Finney suggests targeting those close to completing a degree, understanding their reasons for discontinuation, and providing tailored support. Tutoring platforms offer personalized academic support, aiding students in navigating their coursework and maintaining engagement. By utilizing such tools, higher education institutions can provide additional resources to address individual learning needs, potentially contributing to improved student success, higher retention rates, and ultimately, increased degree completion. https://lnkd.in/eyBcChxa #enrollmentmanagement #postsecondaryeducation #studentretention #students #nimbuslearning #tutoringservices #tutoringsupport

Last month, the Nimbus Team made a trip out to Langara College. During our time there, we had the opportunity to observe firsthand the operations of their tutoring program. This experience provided us with valuable insights to enhance our support strategies, spanning from refining marketing materials to conceptualizing new features. We also engaged in a roundtable with their administrators, discussing program objectives and potential integration of additional tutoring programs onto our platform. The knowledge gained from this visit will be instrumental as we return to implement these insights effectively within our platform. #postsecondaryeducation #nimbuslearning #tutoringservices #tutoringprogram #studentretention #langaracollege #studentservices
