MY01 is Saving Limbs by arming trauma teams with better real-time Point of Care Data to Augment Clinical Decisions.

About us

MY01 is a state-of-the-art medical device geared towards aiding in the detection of Compartment Syndrome (CS); a limb-threatening muscle condition that occurs within 48 hours following trauma. Currently, ACS is diagnosed based on subjective and unreliable outcomes like pain (known as 6 P’s), which when present cannot confirm the diagnosis in time for effective intervention. This leads to increased complications (muscle necrosis/amputation) and costs the US healthcare system more than $2.25 B annually. MY01 is capitalizing on a proven correlation between sustained increase in Intramuscular pressures and ACS for objective, early diagnosis. MY01 operationalizes muscular pressure monitoring into a simple, accurate single-use device. MY01. The simple solution to a dangerous problem. Engineered by NXTSENS

The 2024 Orthopaedic Trauma Association annual meeting was hyper chouette! Great to be back in Montreal and see all my friends who share a passion for fixing broken bones. Well done to the local host Ed Harvey! Stryker nailed it with their event at the Bell Centre. Especially liked seeing Eric Tamweber on the Jumbotron and sporting our custom Habs jerseys. That said, making the decision to go to meetings is usually a hard one for me. Being away from my primary commitments is never without compromise- missed time with my family, kids, job, colleagues and patients. It’s important to weigh the value of every thing you commit to. Be it a national meeting or just another meeting at work. We all only have so much time. Some things you might find helpful that I ask myself before I commit are: — What are my goals? — Am I going to learn something new? — What’s the likelihood I’ll make a new connection that will help with my trajectory? — Are people I enjoy and need to reconnect with going to attend? — Is it in a place I enjoy going or that’s easy to get to? This year the OTA ticked most of those boxes! The thing I like best about this one is it’s a meeting that is less about egos or self promotion. It’s about genuinely sharing ideas and making connections that enable us to take better care of patients and do a better job delivering that care. Maybe it’s a trauma surgeon thing but we need more meetings with this culture of tackling the big picture problems and getting things done. I was further inspired to keep at it by the crowd we drew when I spoke about the benefits of our AI assisted standardized care pathways we’ve built to ensure consistency and quality in trauma care delivery. This is another solution to help us use our time more wisely! What meetings draw you in? What are your travel meeting/work tricks?

As we gear up for #LSIUSA25 we’re showcasing the innovators from around the globe who are selected to present in Dana Point, California. Today we’re showcasing: 1. Caitlin MorseBrainSpace → Committed to improving the way brain pressure is managed in patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, and neurosurgery. The company has developed an automated monitoring solution as an alternative to the antiquated drainage monitoring relying on a manometer-based drain and blood pressure monitor that eliminates the hassle for patients and providers while improving the quality of data being captured for researchers and physicians. 2. Scott A. WhiteDelphinus Medical Technologies, Inc. → Develop and commercialize ultrasound technologies specifically for the early detection of breast cancer. The company's flagship product, SoftVue, utilizes proprietary TriAD (triple acoustic detection) technology to capture reflection echoes from all directions around the breast while simultaneously gathering transmitted signals through the breast. SoftVue is specifically designed for use in women with dense breasts, who have historically been inadequately served with conventional imaging modalities. 3. Charles AllanMY01 → Developed a device to continuously monitor and manage acute compartment syndrome in muscles. The MY01 device is a sterile, single-use device that quickly measures muscle pressure following orthopedic surgery for trauma. We look forward to seeing these innovators take the stage March 17th - 21st in Dana Point. Want to see what other innovators are presenting at LSI USA ‘25?
