This #MemberMonday we’re heading north for a behind-the-scenes look at the brand-new Wellness and Aquatic Centre taking shape in Saugeen Shores. Featured in today’s post are members Walter Banks, Travis Milner, Mitch Hayward-Doerr, and Michael Scott, from Ball Construction, and Tyler Robinson from Konia Masonry. When it’s finished, the new state-of-the-art rec centre will feature an eight-lane, 25-metre pool, a gym, fitness studio, and conditioning centre, and office space for town employees. Working on projects our friends and neighbours will be able to enjoy for decades is incredibly satisfying. We can’t wait to celebrate with the community when the facility’s doors officially open! #BuildingOurCommunity #SkilledLabourBuildingTheFuture #Liuna #Construction #UnionStrong

Today’s #MemberMonday post is a golden hour photo from a Highbury St. overpass in London. Say hello to Joe Woodward, from HC Matcon, and #Local1059 business representative Nathan Moniz. Joe and his colleagues are maintaining a critical piece of infrastructure thousands of Londoners use every day. Thank you for helping us get to where we need to go. We appreciate your hard work! #BuildingOurCommunity #SkilledLabourBuildingTheFuture #LiUNA #Construction #UnionStrong

It was great to see Local 1059’s industrial sector stewards get together for a seminar in our Training Centre this week. Stewards play an important role supporting their fellow members in the field and meetings like this one give us a chance to connect and share best practices. To everyone who attended: Thank you for your hard work and dedication. A quick shout out to all of our building services workers across Southwestern Ontario. You’re essential to keeping local institutions in our communities running smoothly. We appreciate you! #LiUNA #UnionProud #BuildingOurCommunity

This week’s #MemberMonday comes from a job site in north London where LiUNA members from #Local1059 and other Locals across southern Ontario have recently been working on the foundation for a new restaurant. On site from Local 1059 was Chris Brunner with EBS Geostructural. We also caught up with Lucas Martens and Lucas Rempel, who were running a remote saw for London and District Concrete Services. Thanks for all your hard work! #BuildingOurCommunity #SkilledLabourBuildingTheFuture #Liuna #Construction #UnionStrong

It was great to see LiUNA Canada training directors from across Ontario and New Brunswick during their recent visit to our headquarters in London. This was the first time we’ve been able to host this meeting since we moved to Wilton Grove Road and opened our state-of-the-art Training Centre three years ago. We’re always happy to share ideas and best practices with such a great team! Special thanks as well to: Ekwill Literacy Link South Central Workers Health & Safety Centre Jake's House #SkilledTrades #BuildingOurCommunity #SkilledLabourBuildingTheFuture #LiUNA #Construction #UnionStrong

Happy Thanksgiving from London’s tallest building! Today we’re thankful for the 5,000+ #Local1059 members working hard everyday to build and maintain the infrastructure Southwestern Ontario needs to thrive. Featured in this photo, way up on the 40th floor, are skilled workers with Blue Army Contractors — Tristian Newcombe, Nathan Hodgins, Mike Stein, Matt Holmes, Alex Dingle, Dustin Hale-Vermee, Javier Flores, Asmerom Okbazgi, Osama Wady, and Cody Doxtator-Ireland. Londoners moving into Centro apartments will soon be able to enjoy this view on the balconies Blue Army is building. Stay tuned for more from this exciting project. #MemberMonday #BuildingOurCommunity #SkilledLabourBuildingTheFuture #LiUNA #Construction #UnionStrong

A big thank you to ASG Excavating for becoming the latest #Local1059 signatory employer to join our Charity Partnership Program. In exchange for adding some of our decals to their vehicle fleet, ASG has asked us to support two worthy causes in Strathroy — a Salvation Army program that provides school supplies to area students, and Youth Unlimited/YFC Strathroy’s downtown youth centre. Both organizations have received $7,500 each. Keep up the great work, everyone! #BuildingOurCommunity #SkilledLabourBuildingTheFuture #LiUNA #Construction #UnionStrong

Hot on the heels our latest Charity Partnership Program announcement, we’d like to give a #MemberMondy shoutout to a Middlesex Paving and Maintenance crew we recently caught up with on a job in south London. Pictured is Local 1059 business rep Nathan Moniz (left) with Jeff Trull, Chris Stein, Mike Do, and Wayne Dube. Also on site that day was Joe Baer, Tyler Shickluna, Nick Triantafyllou, and Justin Murphy. Thanks for your hard work, guys! #SkilledTrades #BuildingOurCommunity #SkilledLabourBuildingTheFuture #Liuna #Construction #UnionStrong
