🔬 New Poster on AI Auto-Contouring in Gynecological Brachytherapy! We're excited to share the work of Douglas Hoover, John Patrick, Nadith Ranasinghe, Jason Vickress, and the team at Western University, Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre. Their research on AI auto-contouring in gynecological brachytherapy highlights some promising results: High Geometric Accuracy: Limbus AI contours for the bladder showed a DSC of 0.87 ± 0.07, which is comparable to clinician contours with a DSC of 0.88 ± 0.03. Improved Inter-Observer Variability: AI-generated contours for the rectum (DSC of 0.77 ± 0.09) outperformed clinician variability (DSC of 0.64 ± 0.20), suggesting better consistency. Reliable Dosimetric Results: The mean unsigned D2cc dose differences were similar between AI and clinician contours, ensuring accurate treatment planning. Significant Time Savings: Clinicians estimated an average time saving of 13 minutes and 42 seconds per patient when using AI-generated outlines as a starting point, streamlining the planning process and reducing overall treatment time.
