On November 4 & 5, I’m excited to be heading to Vancouver for the 2024 ITBC Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Indigenous Tourism Gathering (https://lnkd.in/druvBYgU). This event is a unique opportunity to explore Indigenous tourism initiatives across the province, and I’m honoured to be a panelist on November 5th. I’ll be sharing insights on how strategic marketing can create meaningful connections and engage audiences. Every brand has a unique story, and as Indigenous businesses, our journeys are both powerful and deeply significant. Strong marketing ensures these stories, values, and visions reach those who need to hear them. I look forward to connecting with leaders and experts in Indigenous tourism, sharing knowledge, and discovering ways to promote and celebrate cultural traditions. Here’s to fostering collaboration and learning together! #2024ITBCAGM Indigenous Tourism BC (ITBC) Destination British Columbia Klahoose Wilderness Resort Gorge Harbour Marina Resort Qathen Xwegus Management Corporation (QXMC)

“Grateful to be amongst χawgəs (coastal brown bears) for a few days. On our way to the Klahoose Wilderness Resort via boat the fish were jumping in the water readying to brave the streams and the wrath of hungry bears. The old growth temperate rainforest coddled my well appointed cabin. From my balcony the calm ambient sound of a waterfall from beyond the trees sustainably powers the energy demands of the resort. A complimentary reusable water bottle and high quality plastic free toiletries complete the suite. Our indigenous bear guides are trained with the Commercial Bear Viewing Association of British Columbia (CBVA) and shared a wonderful origin story of the deer that teaches the upmost importance of responsible subsistence hunting. On this bear viewing trip the love for bears was not just behind the lens and binoculars, it was in the details that help safeguard bears and their beautiful habitat for generations to come. You feel gratitude for THAT love before even setting eyes on a bear.” Photos and words by CanGeo Travel Ambassador Jenny Wong while hosting Canadian Geographic x Klahoose Wilderness Resort adventure.
