The Justice Education Society is proud to present its newest youth program: Camp Justice! Through JES’s programs, we have met youth that were passionate, curious, and eager to get involved in the mission of access to justice. The goal of this new project is to provide such students with an in-depth exploration of the legal system, guided by lawyers and law students. Located in the Robson Square provincial courthouse, this week-long summer camp will focus on helping students better understand contemporary justice issues and build up their advocacy skills. We have two sessions this summer: July 8-12 and August 12-16

JES is very excited to welcome 2 new law students for the summer. Chris and Chifum will be working on our BC team as legal navigators for the Ask JES Legal helpline, running our new pilot program Camp Justice, and giving educational presentations to to the public. Thank you to the Law Foundation of BC for funding the positions. Chris Pang: "I’m Chris, and I’m going into my second year at Allard Law! I did my undergraduate at the University of Toronto and I have been working as a public speaking and debate teacher for about six years. With the Justice Education Society, I’ll be working on the AskJES legal helpline, providing legal education seminars to the public and students, and helping to organize and lead the Camp Justice Program. I’m super excited to partake in such engaging work, so thank you very much to our sponsors who made this possible!" Chifum Anyakwo: "Hello! My name is Chifum, and I just finished my first year at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. I’m really excited to be working at the Justice Education Society this summer. I completed my undergrad in Criminology at the University of Toronto and then worked for a few years before starting law school. I hope to use my law degree to advocate for others and help them during tough times. In my free time, I love reading, watching musicals, and going out to eat."
