Amazon’s new budget storefront: A strategic move or too big a gamble? ♟️ In a surprising pivot, Amazon is introducing an ultra-low-cost storefront featuring deeply discounted products and it's giving.... Temu ✨ This isn’t going to be the usual Amazon experience—shipping will take 10+ days from warehouses in China, and products must meet specific price caps. Early sellers, however, get perks like 50% off shipping and no storage fees for the rest of 2024. But will customers adjust to the slower, more affordable model? For sellers, this might raise some big questions. Competing solely on price can mean quick wins, but what happens to trust and customer loyalty?

Beauty brands, are you optimizing your Amazon ad spend? 💄
Senior Manager, Demand Generation at Jungle Scout | Couple's Coffee & Fantaswick Owner | Amazon & Ecommerce Industry Expert
The ad landscape in the Beauty & Personal Care category is shifting fast on Amazon. If you're not adapting, you're getting left behind. I'm reading Jungle Scout's latest advertising report, and a few things really stand out that I think brands in the beauty category need to act on now: 💡 Ad spend is up big—35% growth in the first half of 2024 alone. Competition is heating up, and the days of “set it and forget it” ad campaigns are over. 🎯 Dynamic bids are winning the day, driving much stronger returns. If you’re not experimenting with bid strategies, you’re likely leaving money on the table. 📊 Most ad dollars are spent on mid-range products ($10-$50). But I’m wondering—are premium products a missed opportunity? There’s potential there if you can position them right. 💻 Sponsored Display ads (yep, the ones you might be underusing) are delivering higher returns than Sponsored Products. If you’re not shifting at least some budget toward these campaigns, you could be missing out. That’s just a few things that caught my eye. There are insights in the report about manual vs. automatic targeting, product-level RoAS, and more. If you’re in the process of setting up your Q4-Q1 ad campaigns, I highly recommend giving it a read. I’ll drop the link to the full report in the comments. I would love to hear what ad strategies you are currently testing. Let’s swap ideas in the comments! 💬 👇
