This creation will be cherished by the Burnaby community for years to come, and we are proud to be a part of making it happen. Last month, we celebrated the grand opening of the Rainey St Trailhead directly next to 44 East Ave in Austin, TX! Intracorp is proud to have supported the Rainey Street Trailhead project, spearheaded by The Trail Conservancy. All trail users, including the residents of 44 East Ave will benefit from the enhancements; a neighborhood lawn, lounge, nature play area, and a small dock. What was once a dirt lot has been transformed into a beautiful gateway between Rainey St District and the Butler Hike and Bike Trail. Intracorp is proud to be a partner in one of Canada’s largest co-op housing renewal projects! Under construction now, the Ashley Mar Housing Co-Operative site will soon add 649 transit-oriented new homes to meet the growing needs of our Vancouver community. The project is transforming what was 54 low-rise end of life co-op units, into a modern, sustainable, three-tower complex comprising 524 market rental homes and 125 new co-op homes. A project of this size and complexity requires a collective effort and this project exemplifies the power of collaboration between public and private sectors and showcases what can be achieved when we come together to deliver creative solutions to address our country’s housing challenges. We are extremely grateful for the low-interest loan provided by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) Société canadienne d'hypothèques et de logement(SCHL) along with a forgivable grant, which is allowing us to construct a highly sustainable building with 20% of the units fully accessible. We recently had the privilege of hosting the Honourable Harjit Sajjan, Minister of Emergency Preparedness, on behalf of the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities, at the Ashley Mar Housing Co-Operative site for the announcement of more than $197.2 million in contributions and low-cost loans through the Affordable Housing Fund (AHF) to help build and repair of 4910 affordable homes in Vancouver. We were delighted to break ground last week on our new community in Vancouver, Amica Granville & West 47th, in partnership with Amica Senior Lifestyles and Marcon. This momentous occasion marked the beginning of construction on an extraordinary community that will provide essential care and housing for Vancouver’s growing seniors population. Located at West 47th Ave and Granville St in Kerrisdale, this six-storey seniors community care facility will be comprised of 208 homes for seniors, offering a continuum of care, including assisted living, long-term care, and memory care. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us, and for their continued support of this project, which will allow seniors to age in place within their community.
