🍂 Happy Thanksgiving! 🍂 As we celebrate the season of harvest in Canda and the upcoming US Thanksgiving, we’re reminded of all the ways this time of year symbolizes the fruits of our collective efforts. Just like a successful harvest is the result of careful planting, tending, and teamwork, our own accomplishments reflect the dedication, support, and collaboration we share as a team. This Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for: Collaborative Success 🌱 — Together, we’ve planted seeds of innovation and worked hard to bring projects to life. Connection 🌾 — Every milestone we reach is a testament to the bonds we've built and the ideas we've nurtured together. Support 🌻 — Through challenges and successes alike, we continue to lift each other up, ensuring that no one faces the journey alone. May this season bring you time to reflect, connect with loved ones, and recharge for the exciting opportunities ahead.

Mental health awareness is not just about recognizing the struggles but also highlighting the importance of sharing support and understanding. At ICUC, we believe in the power of personal stories to foster a supportive community. Our Employer Brand Manager, Jan Crewe, shares one of her grounding tools during moments of uncertainty — poetry. Here are a few poems that reflect her journey: "Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou https://lnkd.in/eD3RBwC "Bee Whisperer" by Laura Secord https://lnkd.in/eJFSyVqh "Mr. Grumpledump’s Song" by Shel Silverstein https://lnkd.in/e8H64Hn3 "The Giver (for Berdis)" by James Baldwin https://lnkd.in/em-8PBSz "The Promise We Live By" by Simon J. Election season brings different challenges for every brand. Whether you're low-risk or tied to public policy, it’s crucial to tailor your social strategy based on your brand’s risk tier. Here’s the rundown: - Low-risk brands: Keep calm and carry on. Minor caution, monitor sentiment, but stick to your core message. - Potentially controversial brands: Pause non-essential content, ramp up monitoring, and prepare for rapid response. - Politically active brands: Highest caution! Real-time monitoring and legal-reviewed responses are a must. - Not sure where your brand fits? We’re excited to celebrate both Hispanic Heritage Month and the birthday of our amazing DEI Co-Chair, Tyler Hower! From September 15 to October 15, we honor the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx communities. Tyler truly embodies the spirit of this month, dedicating herself to creating a welcoming space for everyone to be their authentic selves. And if you know Tyler, you know she always has a book in hand! To mark this special month and her birthday, we’ll be diving into some of her favorite reads. Let’s come together to celebrate the vibrant heritage of the Hispanic community and the wonderful impact Tyler has on all of us. Happy Birthday, Tyler! 🎉

Today and every day, we stand in solidarity with the survivors, families, and Indigenous communities affected by the residential schools that stripped young children of their right to safety and belonging. We encourage everyone to continue their education in this space. Monday is the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. Our Co-President and COO, Jan Reischek, is a passionate supporter of reconciliation efforts and has shared her list of impactful reads to deepen our awareness of this important day. One of the books that resonates with her and her family is With Our Orange Hearts by Phyllis Webstad, which sparks heartfelt conversations about the legacy of residential schools. Like last year, she and her son will be participating in Manitoba Aboriginal Sports & Recreation Council (MASRC)'s virtual Reconciliation Run. They’ve also added events at The Forks Winnipeg to their activities to strengthen their understanding of Truth and Reconciliation. Join her in choosing these reads from her bookshelf. ✨
