Nealcarlo Vitug, Mobile Building Operator, recently celebrated his 5-year anniversary at Hungerford Properties. To celebrate this milestone, we asked him a few questions about himself: Q: What is your favourite part of your job? A: Helping the tenants with their service requests and seeing them happy with the result is self-fulfilling. Q: What is your favourite thing to do on the weekends? A: Whatever activity that I can spend quality time with family and relax. Q: What is a recent book or movie you would recommend? A: My wife and I recently watched “Don’t Move” on Netflix. If you like Thriller movies, I highly recommend this one. Q: What is the most recent vacation you took? A: It’s our first time going to Singapore in December and stayed in Marina Bay Sands. Me and my family enjoyed our stay and the city. It was short but a good vacation overall. We are looking into going back soon. As we commemorate his 5-year tenure, we celebrate Neal’s commitment to strong tenant relationships and his diligent attention to detail in keeping our properties managed to a high standard. He is proactive, dedicated, and a great representative of HP values to our tenants and community. Congratulations, Neal, on your 5-year anniversary! #MeetTheTeam #HungerfordProperties

We’re pleased to share highlights from a special event last week at Xchange Business Park, a joint venture partnership between QuadReal Property Group and Hungerford Properties: “Honouring the Land: Mathxwi House Post Celebration.” This celebration marked the unveiling of the completed house posts, located on the ancestral lands of the Mathxwi (Matsqui First Nation), and underscores our commitment to recognizing the cultural and historical significance of the land on which Xchange is built. A heartfelt thank you to local Coast Tsimshian carver, Michael Epp, for crafting these four stunning house posts, which are now proudly displayed in the outdoor gathering plaza at Xchange. Michael expressed his gratitude, stating, “I was very honoured to do these house posts. I started working with QuadReal and Hungerford, and it has been a joy working and a really good experience with them.” We also extend our gratitude to Matsqui First Nation Councillor Brenda Morgan and Matsqui members Elder Jackie Julian, Ronald Modeste, and Melissa Epp for their invaluable contributions to the celebration. A special thank you goes to the City of Abbotsford mayor, councillors, and staff, as well as the consultants involved in this project, for their support and collaboration. Attendees enjoyed the richness of Mathxwi culture through traditional drumming and storytelling, deepening our connection to this shared history. Mayor Ross Siemens shared his sentiments on the importance of the event: “On behalf of the City of Abbotsford and Abbotsford city council, it’s a real honour for us to be here today. This is a very meaningful opportunity for us. One of the great honours that I have as mayor is working closely with our First Nation neighbours and friends. Earlier this week, we observed National Truth and Reconciliation Day, which reminds us how important it is to have ceremonies that highlight Indigenous traditions and cultural practices that have, in the past, been tried to be erased. I look forward to learning more about the creative process and the meaning and stories the posts represent. I hope that people passing by these posts in the future will not only appreciate their beauty but also reflect on their significance.” We look forward to continuing this journey of collaboration and cultural appreciation within the community. Thank you to everyone who joined us in this meaningful celebration. . . 📷: Kim Bellavance Photographe 📹: Á'alíya Warbus Wales McLelland Construction, Canadian Council for Indigenous Business
