About us

Griottes Polyglottes exists to build social change through playful actions! Founded by Ingrid Broussillon, a passionate advocate of purposeful play, Griottes Polyglottes is dedicated to promoting inclusivity, diversity, and antiracism through dynamic and engaging educational experiences. Originally from France, Ingrid came to Vancouver in 2017 with the desire to improve her English speaking skills through theatre and improv classes. Unable to find such a place, she created Griottes Polyglottes for those who enjoy learning by doing while having fun. All of our workshops center around improvisation (Improv) and theatre activities, allowing participants to learn while playing in a safe and comfortable environment. Ingrid is deeply passionate about improvisation because of its numerous benefits, such as increased creativity and improved communication. Participants in our workshops gain confidence by stepping out of their comfort zones and developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills for unexpected situations. These valuable skills empower individuals to effectively handle challenges, both personally and professionally. At Griottes Polyglottes, we work and play to make a difference with schools, corporations, and organizations by offering workshops that: - Boost language confidence for French and English learners. - Enhance public speaking skills. - Address issues like racism and diversity. If you, like us, believe that learning can be fun, impactful, and transformative, let's make a huge impact together. Discover more and reach out at www.griottespolyglottes.com.

How Improv & Play can boost your Team’s Creativity and have a SOCIAL IMPACT? 🤩💥 I’m soo excited about how play and improv activities can free creativity and make a real SOCIAL IMPACT on teams! 🎉💖 My workshops always have a message, an objective beyond just having fun and laughing... which is already greeaaat! 😂🤸🏽♂️ But I love aiming even higher! 🌟 When we step into the world of improv, we’re learning to think on our feet, embrace the unexpected, and collaborate in ways we wouldn’t have imagined! 🌈🤯✨ It creates this magical, safe space where everyone feels free to share their ideas without holding back. We can take more risks. How amazing is that?! 😍🎈 There’s something so freeing about letting go of the need to be perfect and just going with the flow! 🎭💫 It’s all about embracing mistakes as part of the process, which opens the door to innovation! 🚪💡 The "Yes! And...." is one of the 1st principle in improv that does that. Think about it: when you’re constantly met with “No.” your enthusiasm wanes. But with “Yes! And...” you’re saying, “I hear you, and let’s keep innovating!” 🙌🏽💡✨ This simple shift opens up conversations, boosts morale, and creates a culture of support where everyone feels empowered to contribute. Aaaannnnnd... next time, I'll share how I helped a client build the confidence of one of their team members to say "NO!" 😆🙌🏽 Do you have any examples where saying “Yes” helped a conversation move forward? 😄👇🏾 👧🏿👨🦳👩🏽👩🏽🦰👵🏽👩🏿🦱👩🏿🦳👩🏻👦🏿👱♀️👦🏾👧🏻

🤔🤪 What is silly Ingrid doing there !?? 🤪🤔 Ohhhhh!!! ME? I'm having fuuun! This month I tried something neeeeew!... 🎤✨ As I shared before I went to New Brunswick (Moncton).... that by itself was already something new and amaziiiing.... but that not all! Ahahahah... It looks like I'm public speaking (is that a verb? 😜😆) in the picture... but NOooOo... not just public speaking! I tried Spoken Word / Slam! 😱🎶 Trying something new is always exciting and scary at the same time... 😅 But I loooooooved it! 💞🤸🏾♀️ I never felt so free while speaking in public! It was MA.GI.CCCCC 🦅 To be soooo free using words, playing with them, creating new ones... 💥 To be soooo free creating so many new sounds for the ears and beautiful (or scary) images in our minds! Images you'd never think a combination of words could create!!! It was truly MA.GIIIII.CCCCC!!! 😍 I learned so much... so many tips for my storytelling shows that I can't wait to try out! 🎭✨ Thanks to all the team! 🙏🏽💖 Marie-Thérèse Landry Morgane Savary Can't wait for my next performance as a Public Speaker or Storyteller, so many tools to try out! Yeahhhhhh!!!! 🎉🔥

I'm getting divorced from my unconscious biases! 🎉💥 Here is the story... 😁 Our relationship started as a kid and came to an end at the beginning of my improv journey. 😎 I had noticed that before a class, I would have preconceived judgments about some participants. Just by how they looked or spoke, my brain made automatic assumptions (and yes, I’m ashamed to admit it 😳, but the good thing is I recognized it 😅, my biases were at work!). 🙈 For example, I’d think, “This person seems soooo arrogant and controlling, I don't want to be anywhere near them.” 🤯😤 But then, after playing some improv games with them, I found myself seeing them from a completely different perspective. 🤔💡 Why? 🤔 Because improv requires listening to each other, supporting each other, and building on each other's ideas. These interactions often challenge the initial assumptions I had. 🙌🏾🎭 That’s why I truly believe improv has the potential to change the world! 🌍✨ We all know the harm unconscious biases can cause, but still we believe that we don't have biases (and yes, that’s what makes them so insidious, they’re unconscious 😅). That is why I really love using improv and play in all of my workshops. I can really see the difference when I use them or not! 🎉🥳 So, have you ever judged someone negatively, only to see them in a completely different light after laughing and playing together? 😊🎉 ============== Would you like to bring your team together and have a real conversation about unconscious biases? Let's make it a fun team building activity! We are one (or two) clicks away! 😜👉🏾 👧🏿👨🦳👩🏽👩🏽🦰👵🏽👩🏿🦱👩🏿🦳👩🏻👦🏿👱♀️👦🏾👧🏻

I'm meditating... 🧘🏾♀️ Huuuummmm..... Is there really a benefit to having a diverse team in your workplace? 🤔 Huuuuummmmm..... 🧘🏾♀️ And by diverse I mean : cultures, races, ethnicities, origins, religions, ages, genders, disabilities, economic backgrounds... Seriously? Are you still hesitating? That was a trap question!!! OF COURSE!! 🤩🎉 OF COURSE!! OFEEE COURSEEEEEUU! Let me give you just 3 reasons why diversity ROCKS your workplace: Enhanced creativity & innovation: 💡✨ When you bring together people with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, you’re brewing a recipe for more creative ideas and out-of-the-box solutions! 🎨💥 Better problem solving: 🔍💪 Diverse viewpoints = more angles to tackle any problem! A diverse team makes sure that solutions are well-evaluated and EFFECTIVE! 🚀 Each will try to see the problem and find a solution from their perspectives which will be the perspective of you diverse clientele! 👨👧👧👨👩👦👨👦👨👩👧👦👩👩👦👦 Increased employee engagement: 🧑🏽🤝🧑🏿🤗 When people feel valued and represented, they're more engaged and motivated, boosting morale and productivity across the board! 💥📈 And as a bonus: they will bring their best friends who are just as talented as well! (Same for clients) So YES, a diverse team isn't just a nice-to-have, it's a must-have! ✅️ Any other reasons that we should have diversity in the workplace? Any story to share 😇🤗 ------------------------------------------ At Griottes Polyglottes, we bring the power of improv and play to the corporate world, enhancing team confidence, fostering cultural inclusion, and creating more empathetic, dynamic workplaces one game at a time. 👧🏿👨🦳👩🏽👩🏽🦰👵🏽👩🏿🦱👩🏿🦳👩🏻👦🏿👱♀️👦🏾👧🏻 #Confidence #TeamBuilding #CorporateWorkshops #Improvisation #GriottesPolyglottes

😍😱 I’M SOOOOOO HONORED AND GRATEFUL TO WIN THIS AWARD! 🎉🏆 Me, Ingrid, the little girl from a small island in the Caribbean, growing up in the sugar cane fields, helping my parents raise us. 🌱 I know this journey isn’t over yet. I haven’t made the impact I dream of or helped as many people as I hope to. Racism, discrimination, bullying, unconscious bias, and cultural misunderstandings are still present. 😔😑 I’m confident that by bringing more fun into our workshops and creating a safe space where people can openly share their experiences, we can take meaningful steps toward ending them. 🙏🏽💕 We cannot rely on laws and politicians to end this. WE as individuals - each of us - must be willing to do the work! (From one of my favorite actors and producers, Denzel Washington) This award motivates me to keep going, to spread more JOY, ENERGY and EMPATHY into the world through my workshops. 🌍✨ I also want to say, to other entrepreneurs to be: If you have a business idea and you’re afraid or doubting if you’ll make it... trust me, if I'm still be there trying to make a difference, so can you! 🌟 Just start, believe in yourself, stay open to change and evolve and keep pushing forward. Huge thanks to France Executive Circle, and Société de développement économique de la Colombie-Britannique (SDECB) for this award! ✨ Thanks Louise Turgeon for passing my message on the award night ! 🙏🏽💕 Thanks Giane MARIE, and Julien Mainguy for all the work you are doing! 💪🏾🙏🏽☺️ Bravooooooo to other participants Ben Liegey, MBA, from BetterTable™ / Alice Couderc & Lucas Navilloz from Atome Bakery who also won in their category 👏🏾🫂🏆 And other nominees @aulonanoka from @minimalk / Patricia Ropert from wholistic osteopathy and Wellness / Yousra BOUHALI from @sentelbeauty keep going you rock! The world needs you! 👏🏾💪🏾 #griottespolyglottes #franceexecutivecircle #award #entrepreneurs
