The Amazon is on fire and people need our help. Both Brazil and Bolivia have declared a state of emergency. Paraguay is also struggling with the fires. We are going to donate fire skids with a tank, pump and hose to turn pick up trucks into fire trucks that can extinguish fires in hard to reach areas. We are deploying drone pilots to fly drones at night, detect fires and provide maps to firefighters so they can deploy their resources more efficiently. Thank you Khalsa Aid International for your amazing support and team work! Our fire skid program is super effective. We mount a tank, pump and hose onto a skid so that it can turn a pick up truck into a fire truck. We are trying to get hundreds of these units into the hands of firefighters across Canada so they have another tool to help them put out wildfires. Our friends at Khalsa Aid delivered one of our fire skids to Houston Volunteer Fire Department in BC, and organized a truck to bring 14 units from Edmonton to Nanaimo to equip fire departments on Vancouver Island. They are going to be moving another 12 units from Edmonton to Abbotsford to support fire departments in the lower mainland this week.

💜 #EngagementCommunautaire #LivrerPourLeBien.

Food insecurity continues to be an issue affecting many Canadians, and our amazing #FedExCares team wants to help. That’s why earlier this month, 40 FedEx volunteers spent the day at GlobalMedic (David McAntony Gibson Foundation) - an impactful Canadian charity that provides disaster relief, and life-saving humanitarian aid to people in need in Canada and around the world. Together, at one of their #Toronto locations, we prepped more than 200 boxes of nutritious dried food that will be delivered by FedEx to shelters, food banks and community support agencies across the country. This will help provide meals for more than 4,300 families. Thank you to all the volunteers for helping us make a difference both locally, and nationally! 💜 #CommunityEngagement #DeliveringForGood

What a fun and fulfilling day volunteering at GlobalMedic (David McAntony Gibson Foundation) with my colleagues—and an awesome way to celebrate #TorontoPublicService week! In just three hours we were able to pack 11,000 bars of soap 🧼 GlobalMedic is a powerhouse in delivering aid efficiently and cost-effectively, preparing supplies for crisis zones like Yemen and Ukraine, responding to natural disasters, and supporting local food banks and food security programs in Toronto. Their success relies on having large, open spaces to assemble emergency kits and coordinate efforts, highlighting the crucial need to maintain and support industrial lands — often designated as employment areas — in Toronto, which are currently under immense pressure. - Grateful for a day of meaningful work and can't wait to return to set a new team PR! A huge thank you to Coast Capital Savings and their volunteers who are helping us fight food insecurity in Canada. On Friday, their team in Toronto took the time to help us package thousands of bags of food for our local food banks, and they generously supported their efforts with a cheque for $5000! Thank you Coast Capital for helping us deliver the right aid to the right people at the right time.

HELP US RESPOND TO FIRES IN THE AMAZON. Wildfires are out of control in parts of Brazil, Paraguay and Bolivia. Brazil and Bolivia have both declared a state of emergency because of the fires burning across their countries. We are taking our fire skid program which has proven successful in Canada, and expanding it to other countries struggling with wildfires. We are sending fire skids with water tanks, pumps and hoses to Bolivia to help turn pickup trucks into small fire trucks. We are also deploying our RescUAV Team to Bolivia. We're providing drones, equipment and our pilots to train a Bolivian team. This will help prepare them to manage fires more efficiently using better information provided by the drones.
