1 in 3 food bank visitors say they rarely have people they can depend on for help when they need it. The food banks in our network form a vital part of the foundation of community people facing hunger can rely on. Thanksgiving is a time of community and sharing, and this year, you can help Feed Ontario support our members in making an impact. Until October 14, our partner Turkey Farmers of Ontario will match every donation received. Tell us what you’re grateful for this year in the comments, and find out how you can make a difference in someone’s life here: https://ow.ly/k5BT50TByo2

This year’s Grand Slam Day at Denny's made an impact! On September 18 the proceeds of each Grand Slam meal at participating Denny’s locations across the province were donated to Feed Ontario. With your participation, $16,000 was raised to provide the equivalent of 32,000 meals to people who need it in Ontario. Thank you to Denny’s for the generous support during Hunger Action Month! You can find out more about how we turn every $1 donated into 2 meals in our Impact Report here: https://ow.ly/uXmc50TCxGS

Meet Dan and Angela: they both work full-time, but with their rent taking up half their combined monthly income, there’s not much left for their family to live on. This month, for the first time, they turned to their local food bank for help. With Thanksgiving approaching, you can help us ensure families like Dan and Angela’s have a holiday meal to gather around. For every $1 donated, our partner Turkey Farmers of Ontario will provide a matching donation until October 14. What are you thankful for this year? Tell us in the comments, and find out how you can support a family in need here: https://ow.ly/viVr50TABo0

Have you ever wondered how Feed Ontario turns every $1 donated into 2 meals? It’s Ontario Agriculture Week, and our partners in the agriculture industry play a key role in allowing us to stretch each dollar further to keep food bank shelves full. Through the FeedON pillar of our work we address the urgent need that food insecure people and families are facing today, and with the help of our donors and partners we have provided over 10 million pounds of fresh and non-perishable food to food banks in the last year alone. Find out more about how Feed Ontario makes your donation go further in our Impact Report: https://ow.ly/esOI50TEn1T

If we work together, we can make an impact on food security in Ontario, and our partner The Cheesecake Factory knows this too. They’ve announced their new charity flavour, Triple Berry Bliss Cheesecake: three kinds of berries with a kiss of citrus, layered with vanilla cake and their classic creamy cheesecake. For every slice purchased, The Cheesecake Factory will donate $0.25 to Feed Ontario. With the rising number of food bank visits in our province, keeping food bank shelves stocked with high-quality, nutritious food is an urgent concern. That’s why we’re excited to announce our new larger partnership with the Chicken Farmers of Ontario and Maple Leaf Foods Inc. Our CEO Carolyn Stewart spoke at London Food Bank today, where together we shared that with the CFO and Maple Leaf’s support, we will be able to provide our network with tray-pack size, frozen chicken. This change will significantly improve food banks’ ability to receive these donations and distribute them to their communities.
