Le passage aux autobus à zéro émission pourrait devenir plus abordable plus tôt que prévu. Après que notre équipe a réalisé un plan de mise en œuvre pour la ville de Moncton, nous avons remarqué que non seulement la taille des batteries a diminué au cours des 18 derniers mois, mais aussi leur coût. Pour cette raison, le CUTRIC met à jour l'étude initiale, bénévolement, pour mieux refléter le paysage actuel de l'industrie. Au fil du temps, nous pouvons potentiellement prédire que la différence de coût entre l'utilisation de combustibles fossiles et l'utilisation d'électricité pourrait ne pas être aussi importante que nous l'avions prévu à l'origine. The shift to zero-emission buses may become more affordable sooner than anticipated. After our team conducted an implementation plan for the City of Moncton, we tracked industry trends in smaller-sized electric buses, variable energy densities and varying cost profiles. For this reason, CUTRIC is updating its initial study, pro bono, to better reflect the current landscape of the industry. As we go back, we can potentially predict that the cost difference between running fossil fuel buses and electric vehicles might not be as far away as we had originally expected.
