A few holidays ago, we started Ops-lympics at Callia (I believe it was a Jaclyn Bulbuck brainwave): a way to celebrate the incredible (c)rush that is Valentine's Day + Mother's Day in the floral industry. The entire team jumps in and competes in a range of categories: from Most Phone Calls Answered, to Funniest Overheard Moment... it's a real mix of events. The biggest and most prestigious award is MVP. Voted on by the entire company, it's an opportunity to celebrate the person who really went above and beyond. In a week when everyone's pulling 12+ hour days, with some die-hard Callia team members who've been around for 5+ years, this one's extremely competitive. So imagine how cool it was when this year our MDay MVP, selected by his peers, was Dustin K. - our newest team member, on his first Mother's Day and absolutely crushing it. What an incredible privilege to get to work with a team that is so tightly knit that they know each other's moms' names... but also select the newest kid on the block as their MVP.
