In honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, our BrightPath centres in Canada showed support by wearing Orange. The orange shirt symbolizes the stripping away of culture, freedom, and self-esteem experienced by Indigenous children and communities over generations.🧡 Every day, we reflect on and honour the diverse cultures, contributions, and rich history of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples across the country. We are learning and listening to the needs of Indigenous communities so that we may stand in stronger solidarity with their expressed desires for sovereignty and self-determination. Our team at BrightPath has integrated Indigenous Pedagogy into our curriculum, incorporating Indigenous worldviews into all aspects of the learning environment, including how we interact with children and families, how we develop our daily routines, how we set up our physical spaces, and how we intentionally engage children in learning opportunities.🧡 #BrightPath #BrightPathCareers . . . #orangeshirtday #everychildmatters #indigenous #truthandreconciliation #canada #residentialschools #reconciliation #indigenouslivesmatter #nationaldayfortruthandreconciliation #firstnations #orangeshirt #residentialschool #september #residentialschoolsurvivors #orange #canadianhistory #children #indigenouspeople #truth #mmiwg #native #ndtr #metis #indigenouscanada #callstoaction #healing #indigenoushistory #EveryChildMatters
