Today, Bosa Construction collaborates with owners, consultants, and trades to construct residential, commercial, and institutional developments throughout the Lower Mainland.

People Spotlight | Jean-Paul (JP), Assistant Superintendent     Over four years ago, we were fortunate to have JP join Bosa Construction, initially working in Structural QA/QC. Leveraging his extensive Red Seal ironworker background, JP oversaw rebar placers on the Bettie Allard YMCA and 55One rental tower in Coquitlam. He also worked on Tesoro, and later Myriad, where he was promoted to Assistant Superintendent. Reflecting on why this job is the right fit, JP shares that it’s the strong relationships he’s built, and the memorable projects and teams he’s been a part of.     Learn more about JP below!    Having worked in the industry for a while before joining Bosa Construction, what made you interested in joining the company?   The history and the quality products that the company provides were the main drivers for me to join the team.     What’s something that stood out to you from your first days here?   How well the site teams work together. I could reach out to anyone for help, and they had the answers or experience to help me out. Same goes for today.    As an Assistant Superintendent, what’s a “day in the life” of your role?   My day is spent working on structures and building envelopes, checking for safety, production, and quality. I strive to have a clean site and hold everyone accountable for their clean-up. I get it all done by showing up at 6:10 am and working until 4:00 pm every day.    Is there a favourite part of your job that keeps you motivated?   The people in both formwork and GC. It’s a great company to work for, I am proud to be a part of the company.    Do you have a piece of advice for someone new in the industry, or following in your footsteps?   Stay teachable and be accountable for your mistakes. And don’t hesitate to ask for help when you need it.    What’s a skill you would love to have, professional or personal?   Professionally – more computer skills. And personally – I would love to learn to make fishing rods. In my time off, I’m either fishing, buying fishing stuff, or building fishing stuff.     Is there a quote you live by?   “Happiness is an attitude, it's a way of life.”     Thank you, JP, for sharing!    If you’re interested in a career in construction, connect with us on LinkedIn or visit our careers page: https://lnkd.in/gYKf-a6b

At Central Park House (CPH), our Formwork team has taken on a complex and noteworthy project: a 44-level tower distinguished by its remarkable design. Notably, the amenity levels are in the centre of the building, spanning floors 17 to 19 with a pool on Level 17. To facilitate this innovative project, Revit and AutoCAD were used to develop the design. Cantilever beams on Level 15 support the scaffolding for the Level 17 slab above, ensuring structural integrity. Thrust-out beams, along with the accompanying steel structure, were specifically designed to support the scaffolding for the weight of the pool. The steel structure eliminates the need for reshoring throughout the entire building down to the slab on grade, significantly improving the finishing schedule and reducing labour costs. The structure efficiently transfers concrete loads from the Level 17 pool and cantilevered slabs on Level 17 and 19, distributing them into the columns and building core. The cantilever steel beams, extending 8 feet outward, provide essential support and load-bearing capacity, demonstrating the engineering excellence. We want to thank our Bosa Construction Formwork team for their exceptional execution of this project.    Formwork: PERI & Aluma Systems Engineering: aDB Engineering Welding & Steel Supplies: Protech welding ltd.

Bosa Construction hosted our annual Whistler Trip last month! This event plays a big role in connecting our current legacy employees, who have dedicated over 25 years to our company, with some of our newer team members. By sharing stories of the past, offering wise advice, and gathering for activities that create lasting memories, we strengthen our bonds and build an even more cohesive, strong team. This year, we also had the pleasure of celebrating the retirement and birthday of one of our legacy colleagues in Whistler – a truly special occasion. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this year’s event unforgettable.

Employee Spotlight | Morgan Rodgerson, Rigger With an interest in the construction industry and a little experience underfoot, Morgan joined Bosa Construction as a Rigger in summer 2021. She landed at our YMCA project in Coquitlam where she learned the basic tricks of the trade from experienced riggers. A few months later, Morgan transferred to our Brightside project in Surrey, where she was mentored by many skilled professionals and learned the intricacies of tower construction. In September 2022, Morgan joined our Parkway project (also in Surrey), starting on the raft slab – and now working on level 30! Working alongside talented operators and handling various types of crane loads, Morgan has gained substantial experience and skills that she credits to our culture of mentorship. Lucky for us, she’s been easy to teach – with a great attitude, work ethic, and sense of humour. Learn more about Morgan in the Q&A below! Rigging skills are in high demand in BC; you’re part of the growing number of women who we’re fortunate to have joining the profession. What attracted you to the job? It was the people. My brother introduced me to one of our crane operators who was very welcoming and willing to teach me. I had little experience in the construction industry and having good people around made it much less intimidating to dive into. What’s a day in the life in your current role, and which operators or trades do you work the closest with? As a rigger, it's my responsibility to coordinate the loads being lifted by the crane operator as the physical contact on the actual ground. Throughout the day I fly material for the trades as they need it to keep the job moving. I do this by being super focused and organized. I spend most of my time working with the rodmen and the carpenters. Especially in a hands-on role like rigging, good training and mentorship is key. Who stands out as a mentor to you? My colleagues Kurt and Kyle, both foremen, have been great mentors for me inside and outside of work. They have taken the time to teach me countless lessons that I will carry with me throughout my life and career. What do you enjoy most about coming to work each day?  Aside from the people, my favourite aspect about the work is that there’s constant learning opportunities. There is a lot more that goes into a project than I anticipated, and I can learn from each step. Work aside, where would we find you on a day off work?  I enjoy taking my dog out to the river, so I would likely be there. Thank you, Morgan, for sharing! Bosa Construction is proud to have partnered with the City of Burnaby to transform a retail space within Lougheed Mall into a vibrant hub of community engagement and learning – the new temporary library and community centre for Burnaby! The library/community centre will breathe new life into what was formerly a clothing store and dollar store. Spanning 16,538 square feet, the space features thoughtful design elements such as intricate millwork and architectural ceilings. Families will enjoy the colourful play areas and educational activities, and there’s also a furnished lounge and kitchen for ages 55+. The library area blends traditional and modern touches with classic bookshelves and public computer spaces. This project reflects Burnaby's commitment to community connection and enrichment, the ideal solution until a new permanent facility is constructed.
