Better Buildings for Humans expands the conversation about how buildings impact our health, wellness and productivity.
About us
Given that North Americans spend upwards of 90% of their time in buildings, this is an extremely important part of life that needs ongoing reporting from the front lines, covering the most nascent state-of-the-industry developments and issues, and featuring the greatest minds in the space. On BBFH™, we speak with architects, building science researchers, planners and engineers, building owners, organizational leaders, health and wellness professionals, and figures from the world of lifestyle and culture that have a direct tie to the topics at hand. With every episode, the goal is to ensure that building design thought leadership is at the core: aspects of occupant comfort, health, and productivity are considered along with energy efficiency- all framed in a way that reminds us of just how mainstream these issues are for everyday people. The team at Advanced Glazings Ltd. (AGL) is the force behind BBFH™. AGL was born out of the Advanced Glazing Lab and the Solar Thermal Lab at the University of Waterloo in 1996 and was spawned to maintain our connections to the natural world with soft, glare-free daylight without sacrificing thermal performance. Today, AGL’s proprietary Solera® and Solera Wall® solutions have redefined excellence in the industry. As sustainability, human health, and performance have been our core areas of focus at AGL from day one, BBFH™ is the logical culmination of our efforts to drive the conversation as far and wide as possible. Thanks for joining us on this ride!
