Join us in saying farewell to Michelle Reid (she/her) as she steps down from her role as Chair of the B Local Vancouver Board. Thank you for everything over the last 6 years, Michelle! You are a pillar of our B community and always will be! 🫶
B Local Vancouver started from humble origins, with just a few of us around the table at the BDC offices. These leaders wanted to establish a place where we could dream bigger together. A place where everyone belonged. Walking into that first gathering while nervous and painfully shy, gave me that feeling of being home. What an incredible gift. It has been an honour to serve our growing B Local Vancouver community over the years and I am so thankful for the mentorship I had along the way – Stephanie Ryan and Carla Heim showed me that leading with your heart ❤️ was possible and needed in challenging times. I have been lucky to work with many talented people (too many to name!) along the way and appreciate all that you have done for the B Corp community. Special thanks to Greg Tooke for being my right hand all these years and being that sounding board every leader needs. Through countless events like the Climate Strike, B Corp Leadership Development Days, and Champions Retreat it has been an incredible privilege to share ideas and to participate in helping to create an experience that restores us individually and as a community. My hope is that in a small way I was able to make you feel seen, heard and that you had a space where you felt like you belonged. While it is bittersweet to be stepping away from my #volunteer role after almost 7 years, it is time to let others lead in ways beyond my imagination. It is time to #dream bigger and brighter as our challenging times demand this of us. B Local Vancouver continues with a wonderful and talented team who will continue to create magical spaces with #love and #intention. With a tear in my eye and a smile on my face, I know y’all are in the best of hands. While this chapter ends, I will continue my work with B Lab U.S. & Canada supporting the partnership we have at BDC to make sure our Canadian #BCorps have the support and voice they deserve.
