In 2024, we partnered with 4VI Social Enterprise Group to create the Community Placemaking Program, a program that empowers communities to collaboratively create and transform public spaces into vibrant, inclusive and thriving places. In 2024, the program was redesigned and is now solely funded through the Island Coastal Economic Trust, but the program goals remain the same. Congratulations, Campbell River Whale Watching and Adventure Tours on joining Canada's 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) Rainbow Registered. As a member ourselves, we're excited to see the expansion of this program of inclusivity to businesses in the Vancouver Island Region. #vancouverisland
👏 Congratulations to Campbell River Whale Watching and Adventure Tours on receiving the Rainbow Registered accreditation from Canada's 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC). They are the first whale-watching company in Canada to receive the accreditation. 🌈 The Rainbow Registered accreditation recognizes businesses that meet rigorous national standards for inclusivity toward the #2SLGBTQIA+ community. Some of the initiatives Campbell River Whale Watching & Adventure Tours has implemented include #inclusive policies and practices, inclusivity training for staff, and leadership and advocacy through events like the Annual Pride Harbour Cruise and advocating for gender-neutral washrooms at the marina to better accommodate guests. Thank you for contributing to a more diverse and inclusive tourism industry in BC! #BCTourismCounts
