1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet G50
This 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera cabriolet is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six that was overhauled over the course of several months shortly after the seller’s purchase in December 2020, and it wears a repaint in Venetian Blue Metallic over black leather. Equipment includes a five-speed manual transaxle, Turbo-specification tie rods, 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, power-adjustable front seats, cruise control, air conditioning, and a sound system that comprises a Blaupunkt Bremen digital head unit and aftermarket speakers. The valve cover gaskets and engine belts were replaced in October 2023. This Carrera cabriolet shows 59k miles and is now offered with the owner’s manual, a stamped maintenance booklet, service records dating back to 1990, tools, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The car was finished from the factory in Venetian Blue Metallic (L35U) and has been repainted. It features a power-retractable black soft top, a convertible top boot, integrated fog lights, and heated power-adjustable side mirrors.
The 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels are mounted with Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus tires. Turbo-specification tie rods have been added, and the steering column bushings were replaced in January 2021. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and the fluid was flushed in October 2023.
The cabin features power-adjustable front seats upholstered in black leather. Amenities include cruise control, air conditioning, a Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB, aftermarket speakers, and power windows and locks.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer, a 170-mph speedometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 59k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership. The speedometer signal transmitter was replaced in June 2008, per an invoice in the gallery below.
The 3.2-liter M930/25 flat-six features Bosch Motronic engine management and was factory rated at 217 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The catalytic converters have been removed, and the engine was overhauled between January and November 2021, a process that included replacing the head studs, valve guides, and various gaskets and seals. Other work during that time included replacing temperature sensors and the timing chain rails, fuel lines, and alternator. The valve cover gaskets and engine belts were replaced in October 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a G50 five-speed manual transaxle, and the clutch, pressure plate, and release bearing were replaced in January 2021.
