One hun who goes by the TikTok handle @bownie_segage uploaded a screenshot of her WhatsApp text with her bae. The young lady waiting patiently for her man to show up with his loved one ghosted her on their big day, leaving the hun shattered.

In the text, @bownie_segage says the following:

"Baby, my uncles are waiting what's going on... They should have been here by 9:30 am, and it is almost 12 pm."

The stunner then proceeded to give him a call, to which he did not respond. However, he replied with a text message saying:

"Sorry, I changed my mind."

The clip grabbed the attention of many online users, garnering over 662K views, thousands of likes and comments within two days of its publication.

Why a partner may back out on a wedding day or lobola day

A partner changing their mind mere hours before the wedding can stem from various factors, such as psychological, emotional, and relational factors. While speaking to Briefly News, relationship and sex educator Keletso Kelley Nele Mabunele said that being ghosted on lobola day can be "very disruptive."

"The person being ghosted can feel abandoned, and this can be particularly triggering if they already have abandonment wounds. The best thing to do is to accept that it happened, grieve the relationship, lean on your loved ones for support and the rest will sort itself out with time," she advised.

Keletso went on to express that people choose to ghost their partner instead of communicating their feelings or concerns directly because they find ghosting to be relatively more straightforward to "dip out" than to have a conversation.

"This 'cowardly' approach is often a product of a fear of confrontation and/or poor communication skills," she said.

What red flags might indicate a partner is likely to ghost, and how can these be addressed early in a relationship?

The relationship expert shared that it is difficult to say because ghosting often occurs out of nowhere. She went on to say that most people who are ghosted have a sense that the relationship is going well as the ghoster provides security and, therefore, are shocked when it happens.
