Vermeer celebrates Manufacturing Day with visits from Albia, Brooklyn Guernsey Malcom (BGM), Knoxville and Pella students. These 9th graders participated in activities, interacted with Vermeer team members and got a chance to try out tasks that help them understand what a career in manufacturing could be like.

Vermeer is celebrating Manufacturing Day with visits from North Mahaska, Melcher Dallas, and Sigourney. The 6th graders participated in activities and interacted with Vermeer team members to learn more about a possible career in manufacturing. Over the next decade, 3.8 million manufacturing jobs will likely be needed. Individual strengths and effort can make a rewarding impact in a rewarding manufacturing career for many students.

Thank you to Jason Andringa and the Vermeer Corporation team for hosting the IBC Member Meeting and tour that followed on Thursday. Thank you also to Senate President Amy Sinclair for joining the meeting and having open discussion with attendees.

Our Vermeer chaplain team encourages and helps promote Volunteer Time Off opportunities for our team members in communities surrounding Vermeer. Nelson Pioneer Farm and museum needed help with some projects and our great team members responded to the call.

September has been a busy month, but I always enjoy the opportunities to share with students from different colleges about Vermeer Corporation. Last week, Luke Thompson and Brianna DiBlasi helped out as brand ambassadors for the South Dakota State University engineering career fair. Luke also was able to share with SDSU's Association of Computer Machinery (ACM) club as well. Thank you to our brand ambassadors who helped out with the Missouri University of Science and Technology career fair that included Blake Krodinger, Amber Hatfield, and Ethan Lucas. Blake and I were also able to meet the IEEE-HKN Gamma Theta students at their annual career fair banquet. Some additional Iowa State University outreach events included the Industrial Technology 6 in 60 (6 companies in 60 minutes), Emerging Leaders in Engineering student organization, and the Iowa State University Society of Women Engineers general meeting. Thank you Tamara Kerns and James Afful for allowing Vermeer to share and to Moriah Paskach for engaging with the SWE group last night!
