We were honored to participate in the Feira Liderança Brasil this week.   Attended by President Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, and Minister of Mines and Energy Alexandre Silveira, participants discussed critical topics, including future fuels, production decarbonization, and Brazil's role as a global example of low-carbon production and clean energy.   The government also used the opportunity to present a new set of policies to position Brazil as a global leader in the energy transition.   Sigma Lithium, the world’s only zero-carbon producer of lithium for electric vehicle batteries, was represented by Vice President for Institutional Relations Ligia Pinto, and Senior Area Manager Elisa Romano.

We were honored to be included in the delegation of B-20. business leaders partaking in the Energy Transition discussions held along the G20 Brasil 2024 ministerial meetings. Ana Cabral was one of the Representatives of the B-20 working group in energy, which included all segments: ethanol, biogas, SAF, critical minerals and its industrial materials. They met with the Ministers of Energy Ministério de Minas e Energia Alexandre Silveira of Brazil and US Jennifer Granholm during one of the G-20 events. Sigma’s Zero Carbon / Zero Tailings Greentech Lithium Industrial plant was a “highlight”During the discussions of critical minerals/ industrialization of materials: demonstrated Brazil’s competitive advantages in enabling a “truly green” and sustainable global energy transition.

Thus even during the life of the mine it is possible to proactively regenerate and work towards maintain the visual of the area as close as possible as its original state. (The pictures showing the piles at 18montns after planting polymers and grass are beautiful) Waste piles are soli: they do not contain ore and are removed from the mine pit in order to reach the ore. Nossos executivos participaram, na Nasdaq, em Nova York, do Investor Day Sigma Lithium 2024, um encontro anual com investidores. Durante o evento, eles destacaram a trajetória e crescimento da empresa que se consolidou como um dos maiores produtores globais de lítio e se destaca como a única empresa do setor de materiais para baterias de veículos elétricos NET ZERO. O evento aconteceu no marco da Climate Week, e tivemos a oportunidade de apresentar projetos de climate action de economia circular. Os rejeitos finos da planta industrial serão revendidos e reprocessados após a instalação concluída de forma bem sucedida do circuito de reprocessamento da planta Greentech. O cascalho grosso: será reciclado em pavimentação de cimento para praças em zonas rurais. Keith Prentice, Gerente Geral, Industrial destacou as operações industriais sustentáveis com a planta industrial de tecnologia verde. Maria Jose Gazzi Salum, membro do Comitê ESG da Sigma Lithium destacou o compromisso com a sustentabilidade e responsabilidade social da empresa, que envolve a redução da pegada de carbono. Ela explicou aos investidores como empresa metrifica sua pegada de carbono e a baixa intensidade de carbono dos processos da Sigma Lithium, destacando o uso de créditos de carbono para compensações. “Essa abordagem reflete a estratégia da empresa de minimizar o impacto ambiental e promover a produção sustentável de lítio, essencial para a mobilidade elétrica”, comentou. A empresa investirá em P&D para replicar a planta de reciclagem dos rejeitos ultra finos. Ana Cabral e Maria Salum também apresentaram nosso trabalho de regeneração integral (pró-ativa) das pilhas de estéril, solo localizado ao lado das cavas minerais. O pioneirismo dessa técnica reside em executar a regeneração com aplicação de polímeros. Crescendo vegetação nas encostas das pilhas: diminuindo poeira e eliminando o impacto visual das pilhas de solo de esteril. “Mostramos que é possível partilhar a prosperidade e entregar resultados financeiros num novo exemplo da eficiência que um negócio com propósito pode trazer à sociedade e às comunidades, “ concluiu Ana Cabral.
