After three years on the Board of FCLTGlobal, I’m excited to take on the role of Chair this September, following Theresa Whitmarsh’s strong tenure. CPP Investments | Investissements RPC co-founded the original Focusing Capital on the Long Term initiative in 2013. Since then, it has evolved into FCLTGlobal - a non-profit organization that develops actionable research and tools to support a sustainable and prosperous economy. Will the CPP be there for Canadians when they retire? Yes! The Canada Pension Plan (CPP) is projected to be financially sustainable for at least the next 75 years. Every three years, the Office of the Chief Actuary of Canada, an independent federal body, evaluates the long-term financial sustainability of the CPP. Recently, Canada’s Chief Actuary, Assia Billig, joined the Rational Reminder Podcast to discuss the Canada Pension Plan and the rigorous process her office undertakes to determine its sustainability. CPP Fund net assets totalled $646.8 billion at the end of fiscal Q1 2025, an increase of $14.4 billion from the previous quarter.
