Walla Walla, WA — September 5, 2024 — Communities In Schools of the Blue Mountain Region (CISBM) is thrilled to announce the receipt of a $19,000 grant from The Wildhorse Foundation. This generous funding will play a crucial role in addressing food insecurity among students in our community.
With the support of the Wildhorse Foundation, CISBM will provide healthy snacks to students across the 14 schools we serve, directly from our CIS offices located within each school. For many students, school meals are their primary source of nutrition, and hunger often becomes a barrier to their academic success and overall well-being. This grant will allow CISBM to discreetly offer much-needed nutritional support, ensuring students can focus on their education without the distraction of hunger.
This initiative aligns perfectly with CISBM’s mission to remove barriers to success and ensure that all students thrive. The Wildhorse Foundation grant will be used through June 2025, making a significant impact on the lives of the students we serve.
“This grant is a game-changer for our students. Hunger is a real obstacle to learning, and with this support from The Wildhorse Foundation, we can ensure our students have access to the healthy snacks they need to succeed in school.” – Addison Fairbank, Program Manager
CISBM is immensely grateful to the Wildhorse Foundation for their support, which will help us create a more equitable learning environment. This grant is not only a step toward addressing immediate needs but also a foundation for future collaborations as CISBM seeks to secure ongoing funding to sustain and expand these vital resources.
