Early life and education

Suzanne was raised in Parsippany by her mother who was a real estate agent, and her father who was the owner of his own trucking company, which he ran from their family home. Because Suzanne hasn’t spoken of having any siblings, most of her fans believe her to be an only child.

She was physically highly active during her teenage years, as she played various sports with her peers, excelling in volleyball, and was also into acting with her high school’s drama club, dancing and practicing creative writing.

Suzanne’s career

Not a lot is known about Suzanne’s career prior to her joining Fox News, while it’s known that she had spent some time working at American basic cable business news channel CNBC, as Chet Collier’s executive assistant.

Both she and Collier moved to Fox News in 1996, with Suzanne assuming the position of programming assistant. She steadily progressed at the network, and in her first a couple of years helped launch many on-air initiatives, such as the popular primetime show “On the Record” in 2002.

Between 2002 and 2005, Suzanne worked as senior producer of the show “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren”, and the year 2005 saw her become the Fox News network’s executive producer; she was promoted to vice president of programming in 2007, and to senior vice president of programming and development in 2009.

Having held the above mentioned position for seven years, Suzanne became executive vice president of programming in 2016, and following the departure and then death of Fox News’ first CEO Roger Ailes, she became the new CEO on 17 May 2018. Suzanne, Jack Abernathy and Jay Wallace have been credited with fixing the mess caused by the scandal involving former CEO Roger, who had been accused of sexually harassing many of his female employees.

Suzanne also became the CEO of Fox Business Network together with Fox News, and was for a while the only woman to run a major TV news organization, until Rashida Jones became the president of MSNBC.

Not everyone seemed to like the appointment of Suzanne as CEO, some stating that she’s also been involved in sexual harassment suits, although not as a defendant, but only cited in these suits. She’s been accused of forcing Fox News female employees to wear short and revealing dresses, high heels and to have big hair on air, but she’s denied these accusations.

Most recently, in June 2021, former Fox News anchor Ed Henry filed a lawsuit against Suzanne, claiming that she had covered up the affair between Fox News president and his employee; as yet there is no result.
