More private companies in the UAE will be legally required to have a woman on their board as of January 2025. The requirement will affect private joint-stock companies, which are unlisted and owned by investors. “The decision reinforces the UAE's vision to enhance gender balance, empowering women in the business sector, and increasing their presence in leadership and decision-making roles,” said Abdulla bin Touq, Minister of Economy.
