Landoll's Mohican Castle, Loudonville, OH
The Mohican Castle in Loudonville was originally constructed in 1996 by Jim Landoll whose passion project was to convert the old barn on his property into a castle. He opened it as a hotel with his wife, Marta, in 2002. It likely would have closed for good after a fire in 2008 destroyed the hotel restaurant, if not for Gordon Ramsey's intervention, when he featured the Mohican castle on his show, “Hotel Hell.” Since then the castle has made a complete turnaround and is thriving more than it has since its original opening.
