Very honored to have spoken at the panel on digital ecosystems and AI partnerships in the first workshop on “Dialogues in Competition Law and Economics” hosted by the University of Piraeus, CLES & UCL, and CCLS & Queen Mary. Is there a need for a stand-alone digital ecosystems theory of harm? Or is this just old wine in new bottles? How aggressive should competition enforcement be in the emerging GenAI sector? Does it matter if these partnerships qualify as a notifiable merger or not? A diverse panel including Leonidas Theodosiou, Angelos Stenimachitis, Dr. Konstantina Bania, Ioannis Lianos and myself shared varying perspectives. I also had the privilege to hear one of the best State aid presentations in many years by Dimitrios Kyriazis, focused in the controversial tax ruling cases.
