When deployed together, mechanical and chemical recycling maximises the resource potential of plastic waste, reducing landfill and incineration rates. 🔎 Find out how our industry has set out its pathway to reach 25% circularity in 2030 and 65% by 2050, respectively: https://lnkd.in/eUu-uscv
Plastics are essential for modern life, but they come with a challenge: plastic waste. Europe produces more than 30 million* metric tons of post-consumer plastic waste a year, but only 26.9% is recycled, according to Plastics Europe . Europe needs more technology solutions, including chemical recycling, to address this challenge. Complementary to traditional mechanical recycling, chemical recycling can expand the kinds and amount of plastic that can be recycled and repurposed.
