🌍🚀 We’re over the moon to be part of a stellar achievement in space exploration! ESA’s Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (#JUICE) has completed its first flyby of Earth and the Moon, a crucial step that brings it closer to discovering some mysteries of our solar system. At Lambda-X High-Tech we had the privilege of designing, manufacturing, and testing custom optics for one of the visible spectral range monitoring cameras onboard. We’re proud to have our optics keeping an eye on the mission as it ventures into the great beyond! Kudos to the European Space Agency - ESA and all the incredible teams involved. Onward to new frontiers! 🪐✨ #SpaceExploration #JUICEMission #ESA #Innovation
🌍ESA’s Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (#Juice) returns to Earth on 19–20 August 2024, to complete the world's first Lunar-Earth gravity assist. 🛰️Flight controllers will guide the spacecraft past the Moon and then Earth itself, ‘braking’ the spacecraft. This manoeuvre may seem counterintuitive but will allow Juice to take a shortcut via Venus on it's way to Jupiter. 👇 Join us tonight, from 22:30 BST/23:30 CEST, join a panel of experts discussing the world's first lunar-Earth flyby. 👉https://lnkd.in/eJxNkJTz

🚀 Yesterday August 4th, 2024, the Colloidal Solids instrument, or #COLIS, embarked on the NG-21 mission to the International Space Station (ISS) and will find its home in the Microgravity Science Glovebox facility. This instrument was crafted by Redwire Space Europe’s team in Belgium, together with Lambda-X High-Tech, for the European Space Agency - ESA. 🌌 COLIS is no ordinary scientific tool— with two unique cell modules (D and E) and advanced detection techniques, it’s designed to investigate the secrets of proteins, colloidal glasses, and gels. We've been partnering with Redwire for nine years, bringing COLIS to life from early tests to the final flight model. This project employed cutting-edge techniques like Standard (Depolarized) Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Static Light Scattering, Time-Resolved Correlations (TRC), all in three directions, and Small Angle Light Scattering (SALS), to ensure measurement and analysis accuracy. This journey showcases our passion for scientific innovation and tackling complex optical engineering challenges head-on. Stay tuned for more cosmic projects! 🔭 #ScienceInSpace #OpticalEngineering #RedwireBelgium

On August 19-20, the ESA's JUICE mission will achieve a world-first lunar-Earth flyby, using the gravity of both the Moon and Earth to slingshot towards Jupiter! 🌌 What's a #flyby? 🤔 ◾ A flyby is a space maneuver where a spacecraft uses the gravitational pull of a celestial body, like the Moon or Earth, to change its trajectory and gain speed without using extra fuel. ◾ Imagine JUICE performing a cosmic dance💃 swinging around the Moon and then Earth, harnessing their gravitational forces to catapult itself towards its ultimate destination—Jupiter 🚀 ◾ This gravity assist is crucial for saving energy and increasing the spacecraft's velocity, enabling JUICE to embark on its journey across the solar system. Equipped with Lambda-X optics for its monitoring cameras, 📸 JUICE will explore Jupiter's moons, uncovering the mysteries of our solar system 🔍 We are incredibly proud to contribute to such a historic mission 🌠 Learn more about this mission: https://lnkd.in/db-6tHfY Image credits: European Space Agency - ESA #monitoringcamera #SpaceExploration #JUICEMission #LambdaX #Innovation #HighTech #JourneyToJupiter
