Bringing together the shipping sector and policymakers for a two-day high-level event in Brussels on 19-20 March 2025!

About us

The European shipping industry is pleased to invite policy makers, regulators and stakeholders from the maritime world and beyond to its “European Shipping Summit”. The event will take place in Brussels on 19 and 20 September 2023. Europe is facing an existential transformation as it strives to meet climate neutrality by 2050 while maintaining industrial leadership at global level. The Green Deal Industrial Plan and the proposed Net-Zero Industry Act put forward ambitious measures to strengthen Europe’s security of supply and strategic autonomy by fostering green technology manufacturing, green transport, just transition and open trade. The maritime sector plays a strategic role in Europe’s future competitiveness and in achieving its climate objectives. In the past years, the COVID pandemic, the war in Ukraine and the energy crisis have brought to the forefront the strategic role of shipping, seafarers and maritime workers to Europe’s security and prosperity. Shipping is a cornerstone of Europe's security - from energy security to food security to supply chain security, shipping plays a crucial role in delivering the goods we need, supporting EU exports and connecting European citizens within Europe and with the rest of the world. The European Shipping Summit will bring together European shipowners, the maritime sector and its supply chain, European and international policy makers, NGOs, industry stakeholders, seafarers and maritime workers, in a two-day event featuring a high-level dialogue, brainstorming sessions and workshops.
