The European Space Programme implements space activities in the fields of Earth Observation, Satellite Navigation, Connectivity, Space Situational Awareness/Space Traffic Management, Space Research and Innovation. It encourages and supports innovation and competitiveness through investments in critical infrastructures and disruptive technologies. The EU Space Programme is backing the European space industry and research by bringing together existing stakeholders and contributing to the emergence of a European ‘New Space’ eco-system. EU Space has several components, including: Copernicus Galileo EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service) GOVSATCOM IRIS² Space Situational Awareness The EU Space Programme is implemented in close cooperation with the EU Member States, the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA), the European Space Agency (ESA), EUMETSAT and many other stakeholders.

🌍 Shaping a Sustainable Future for Space 🌍 On Thursday, 24 October, we proudly launched the Technical Secretariat to drive the Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules (PEFCRs) and Environmental Footprint (EF) compliant datasets dedicated to the space sector. This marks a crucial step toward creating a more sustainable framework for space activities across Europe. 🌱 Key Activities & Milestones: The next year is set to be pivotal! From January to July 2025, the technical secretariat (TS) will play a key role in supporting multiple working group meetings and guiding data collection for the supporting studies.
