📢 The European Clean Hydrogen Alliance published its Learnbook on Implementation of Hydrogen Supply Corridors. The Learnbook is the fourth report from the Transmission and Distribution Roundtable of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance, and intends to 👇 💡 Describes how the six identified #H2 supply corridors will be created by 2030 through projects 💡 Outlines #technical characteristics and #interconnections of each corridor, as well as the potential contribution they offer to the development of the EU H2 economy. 💡 Identifies specific barriers to the further development of these H2 corridors. We would like to thank all the members and task forces for their valuable contributions! The Learnbook is available on the website of Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs listed under ‘Timeline’📍 https://bit.ly/4gNCPEW You can also find it on our ENTSOG website 👉 https://bit.ly/40C5VBf For more information, read our PR 📰 https://bit.ly/40IHXEm

Facilitating cooperation between national gas Transmission System Operators to achieve European Union energy goals
About us
The role of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG) is to facilitate and enhance cooperation between national gas transmission system operators (TSOs) across Europe, to ensure the development of a pan-European transmission system in line with European Union energy goals. ENTSOG’s tasks are mainly defined in Regulation (EC) No 715 / 2009. This includes developing network codes for market and system operation, elaborating the Ten-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP), providing regular information on gas supply and demand for the European market and delivering common operational tools to ensure network security and reliability. ENTSOG work is continuing to evolve: from designing the secondary legislation and fulfilment of conferred regulatory tasks, monitoring the effects of the agreed outcomes through to responding to future challenges and building on achieved results. While its focus remains on monitoring Network Code implementation, ENTSOG future activities will also include assessing the progress of the functionality of the European gas markets and looking at longer term horizons for European Scenarios.

Piotr Kus, ENTSOG, actively contributed to the 5th PCI Energy Days discussions. During the panel on the benefits of an interconnected energy network, ENTSOG emphasized the essential role of #molecules and related #infrastructure in enabling rapid and cost-effective energy transitions. Piotr Kus further stressed that "approximately two-thirds of the #TYNDP 2024 projects are #H2 focused, reflecting notable progress and a substantial rise in #H2 initiatives compared to the previous TYNDP cycle. This trend is encouraging for the next steps, as these projects move toward practical implementation to establish a #H2 network, leveraging both new and #repurposed transmission assets"

On 29-30 October, ENTSOG, GIE and EASEE-gas hosted the 4th joint Data Exchange and Cybersecurity hybrid workshop 💻 The event was an opportunity for experts to gather and exchange on the latest updates, opportunities and challenges related to #data #exchange and #cybersecurity in the energy sector. Topics such as the implementation of #secure data exchange, cybersecurity regulation and the impact on the gas sectors and ways to enhance cybersecurity awareness were addressed among the attendees, who also highlighted the importance of #cooperation at EU level to enhance #awareness and #preparedness on such topics. Thank you to all the experts for their participation, and we already look forward to the next occasion!

Piotr Kus and Kacper Żeromski, ENTSOG, actively participated at the Ministerial meeting of the High Level Group on Central and South Eastern European Energy Connectivity, #CESEC. The session, dedicated to 2024/2025 winter preparedness in CESEC, allowed ENTSOG to present some of the main findings from the latest Winter Supply Outlook 2024/2025 and Winter Supply Review 2023/2024 of relevance to the region. ENTSOG emphasized that #cooperation between #infrastructure and #storage is crucial to reduce dependency on Russian supply and ensuring preparedness for winter 2025. Maintaining gas reserves and leveraging additional storage options, including Ukrainian facilities, will be essential to achieving the 90% target by summer 2025, further strengthening regional #energy #security. Piotr Kus, ENTSOG, and Pieter van Aartsen, pre-ENNOH, took the stage at the GIE Conference to discuss the way forward for gas infrastructure. The panel discussion was a good opportunity to take stock of the progress achieved, and the importance of cooperation to continue finding synergies between the two associations for #infrastructure operators to transport #cleanmolecules.

ENTSOG published its Winter Supply Outlook 2024/2025 and Winter Supply Review 2023/2024 ❄ Similar to previous editions, the report comprises a Union-wide simulation of #gas supply and #infrastructure disruption scenarios, including a wide variety of sensitivities not only for this winter assessment but also for the longer-term preparedness. In response to stakeholders’ requests, this edition additionally includes an analysis for Summer 2025. Here are some main findings 👇 📍Significant storage withdrawal early in the winter season will result in low storage levels at the end of the season, which would decrease flexibility and increase risk of demand curtailment in case of cold winter. 📍 Europe could still reach 40% of its gas storage at winter's end without Russian pipeline gas, showcasing the EU's independence from Russian gas. 📍 Additional #storage #flexibility could be secured by storing additional volumes in Ukrainian storage facilities. Potential transit of gas through Ukraine between Member States could improve interconnectivity between CEE and SEE regions. 📍#LNG supply and supply from Norway represents the largest sources of supply for the EU Member States and the Energy Communities’ Contracting parties.
