🚴♀️What a ride! The Blankenburg Connection was a key part of the first stage of the Tour de France Femmes. The ‘Grand Départ’ kicked off in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, with the riders becoming the first and only ones to cycle over the newly constructed Blankenburg Connection and through the Maasdeltatunnel. And there was another first, as this was the first time that the start of the Tour de France Femmes took place abroad. After years of hard work, the Blankenburg Connection is set to officially open to car traffic on 7 December, significantly improving accessibility in the Rotterdam area. We're proud to have played a role in the construction as part of the BAAK Blankenburgverbinding consortium alongside Ballast Nedam. 📷: Rijkswaterstaat #blankenburgverbinding #maasdeltatunnel #immersedtunnel #infra #TDFF2024

DEME has completed the first stage of inter-array cable installation at the Dogger Bank A wind farm in the UK. We are responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of 900 km of inter-array cables for the entire 3.6 GW Dogger Bank wind farm, which is being developed in phases (A, B & C). This milestone marks the first assignment for our DP3 cable installation vessel, ‘Viking Neptun’, featuring cutting-edge technology for increased efficiency and reduced emissions. Our cable installation vessel 'Living Stone' finalised burial works. ‘Viking Neptun’ will soon return to the UK for the installation of inter-array cables at Dogger Bank B. 👉 More information: https://lnkd.in/dJDH7sCG #offshorewind #doggerbank #cableinstallation #vikingneptun #livingstone SSE Renewables Equinor Vårgrønn

🚦🌟 After 7.5 years of construction, the new road N434 and the accompanying Corbulotunnel have officially opened in the Netherlands! This new infrastructure directly connects the A44 and A4 near Leiden, significantly improving mobility in the province of South Holland. Comol5 RijnlandRoute, an international consortium of DEME, Mobilis TBI, Croonwolter&dros and VINCI Construction Grands Projets, was responsible for the reconstruction of the Leiden West junction, the construction of the new N434, and modifications to the A4 and A44. Comol5 will also be responsible for the 15-year maintenance of the N434. A remarkable part of the N434 highway is the 2.5 km bored Corbulotunnel, which runs under Voorschoten and the Rijn-Schiekanaal (the Vliet). With the completion of the new road infrastructure, our infra experts add another tunnel project to their portfolio, next to three ongoing immersed tunnel projects. 📷: Vincent Basler #rijnlandroute #infrastructure #infra #rijkswaterstaat #zuidholland #tunnel #roadconstruction

🙌𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 '𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐚'!🙌 We have marked a significant milestone at the Fehmarnbelt tunnel project with the official naming ceremony of our multi-purpose pontoon, ‘Maya’. Designed for the construction of the world's longest immersed tunnel between Denmark and Germany, ‘Maya’ will play a crucial role in laying a uniform gravel and stone foundation on the seabed before the immersion of the 89 tunnel elements. This high-tech operation involves precise work up to 40 metres below sea level, ensuring the stone and gravel bed is positioned with centimetre-level accuracy along the 18 km stretch. ‘Maya’ is equipped with a unique subsea gravel installation frame, known as the Submerged Dumping Tool, which operates like a 3D printer under water, meticulously putting gravel layers inside the tunnel trench. We were honored to have Vibeke Grave, Second Deputy Mayor of Lolland Municipality, as the godmother of ‘Maya’. Some facts about 'Maya': ✅ Dimensions: 130 m long, 48 m wide ✅ Load capacity: 14,000 tonnes of gravel and stone ✅ Construction: 1,500 people involved in the design and construction The ceremony wasn't just about naming 'Maya', it was also a celebration of the remarkable teamwork and dedication that brought this innovative vessel to life! DEME is proud to announce the signing of a milestone Cooperation Agreement with the Egyptian Government to establish an industrial-scale green hydrogen production facility in Egypt’s western desert. Leveraging the knowledge gained from the development of Oman's pioneering HYPORT Duqm green hydrogen project, DEME will apply its expertise to this innovative second facility. The new HYPORT green hydrogen production plant will be located within the industrial zone of the Port of Gargoub, which is the country’s newest commercial port and industrial zone that is situated on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast. The wind and solar renewable power generation infrastructure will be located 70 km southwest of Gargoub and it will be connected to the production facility via a dedicated high-voltage power line. HYPORT Gargoub is a three-phase project, with the first phase targeting an annual green ammonia production of approximately 320,000 tonnes.   👉 you can find more information in our press release: https://lnkd.in/e_mpSJ9m #greenhydrogen #hydrogen #greenenergy #renewables #gargoub #egypt

Exciting news from France!  ‘Apollo’, our offshore installation vessel, arrived this week at the Dieppe le Tréport offshore wind farm in France. Our crew and project team are now preparing the piling operations for the first of the 62 jacket foundations. The project in Dieppe le Tréport is another large-scale offshore wind farm project for DEME in France. It follows groundbreaking solutions deployed in recent years at Saint-Nazaire and the Iles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier offshore wind farm. DEME will transport and install the pin piles and jackets forming the foundations for 62 wind turbines, as well as take care of the transport and installation of the pin piles, the jacket, and the topside for the offshore substation. DEME will also execute the EPCI contract for a total of 120 km of inter-array cables. The 496 MW Dieppe Le Tréport offshore wind farm – which was developed by Les Éoliennes en Mer Services and is owned by OW Ocean Winds (a joint venture by ENGIE and EDPR), Sumitomo Corporation, and Banque des Territoires – is set to supply almost 850,000 people with renewable energy. #offshorewind #energytransition #france #renewableenergy #apollo
