I'm personally very proud of this CPDP.ai panel: Computing Using Physics; What Can AI learn from Analog Computing? The topic came about when - at an exhibition opening - artist/researcher joost rekveld and I discussed and agreed about the book Analogia by George Dyson, while analog machines have been the subject of the PhD Joost has been working on the last couple of years. We wanted to dive deeper into the subject and relate it to current research on analog computing hardware, how AI models can be run through this hardware and how the results differ from the generally prevailing digital hardware (the Turing Machine). At CPDP.ai it came about as a deeply philosophical and - at times - poetic discussion about noise, universality, ecology, social imaginaries and embodiment. On 23 May 2024, a festive award ceremony took place at the Computers, Privacy and Data Protection (CPDP) Conference in Brussels. At this event, the three finalists read excerpts of their stories and started a conversation with the audience about the future of Information Law.
