Today’s enterprises face a crisis of complexity. They need to securely connect local and remote workers, on-prem and cloud apps, and far-flung networks everywhere. Maintaining visibility and control has never been more difficult. Additionally, the days that NIS2 and DORA become applicable and enforceable throughout the EU are approaching quickly. On September 17, CIONET Belgium hosted an interactive roundtable in collaboration with Cloudflare, bringing together a select group of digital leaders to tackle these growing challenges of securely managing network connectivity.   Led by Bart Degroote and Vincent Barida, the discussion highlighted key strategies for navigating these challenges: 💥 Streamlining network management: Simplifying infrastructure by consolidating vendors and solutions to reduce complexity and improve visibility. 💥 Enhancing security: Implementing robust measures to safeguard sensitive data and cloud applications, particularly for a dispersed workforce. 💥 Optimising performance: Ensuring fast and reliable connectivity for users across multiple locations remains a top priority.   The session provided valuable, actionable insights for enterprises seeking to regain control over their cloud networks while addressing pressing security and performance needs. Yesterday, under the shining sun at the Zoo of Antwerp, we celebrated Belgium’s Finest with about 200 attendees at the CIONET Belgium Summer Festival 2024! The energy was high as we connected with visionary leaders, startups, and scale-ups shaping Belgium’s digital future. This year’s festival truly celebrated the hidden gems in our tech landscape, and the atmosphere was electric! We were inspired by keynote speaker Jan Smedts, CEO of Digitaal Vlaanderen, who shared his vision on technology at the service of society. Frederik Degryse, CEO of iTraceiT, and Romeo Martens, CTO of Sealution - Connectivity Below Deck, wowed us with their inspiring stories of young, brave Belgian entrepreneurs on the brink of their global breakthroughs. The Innoptus Solar Team stole the show with their world-champion solar car, a shining example of Belgium’s leadership in sustainable innovation. Thomas Kessler, partner at Deloitte, also kept us ahead of the curve with insights from their latest Tech Trends report, guiding us through the technologies shaping tomorrow. We also welcomed MindWave as our newest business partner. Johan Nagels, Founder & CEO, shared how they connect companies with top senior Java talent to tackle complex digital challenges. With a presence in Greece, MindWave is leveraging the region’s skilled talent for offshoring, further strengthening its commitment to delivering digital solutions. Our celebration extended beyond the insights shared—we indulged in Belgium’s finest food and drinks, from a sizzling BBQ to Aperol Spritz, G&Ts, beers, and wines, all made possible by our event partners—Kyndryl, Stefanini EMEA, LCL Data Centers, Telenet Business, ITDS Business Consultants, Mendix, Splunk, and Freshworks. It was the perfect setting to connect, share ideas, and enjoy the best of what Belgium has to offer. The day concluded with a privatised guided tour of the Zoo of Antwerp, where we enjoyed a unique opportunity to explore the zoo’s wonders and network in this beautiful, natural setting after a day of engaging discussions.
