Skynode S is a powerful and cost-effective, fully integrated autopilot and mission computer to enable UAS systems with the Auterion software stack
Auterion, the company building the software-defined future for mobile robotics and powering the world’s leading drone manufacturers, has announced the release of Skynode S for commercial applications, especially suitable for use cases that require computer vision capabilities for precise execution.
Skynode S is a fully integrated autopilot for robots that combines a flight controller and mission computer to unlock the full functionality of Auterion’s software platform. The more capable hardware features the FMUv6x flight management unit from the current Skynode X family and a powerful mission computer with a dedicated Neural Processing Unit for AI and computer vision applications.
Skynode S is a compact, low-cost, chip-down design that is thinner and lighter than previous Skynode models.
It is designed to power all types of vehicles with up to eight motors/servos, including larger fixed-wing platforms. It is specifically designed to enable the deployment of unmanned systems running AI and computer vision applications at quantity.
The new capability has seen hundreds of test flights and demonstrated mission success in a number of operational environments. It will also be available for government and military applications.
“Skynode S is low-cost, extremely compact, and will be produced in the tens of thousands, introducing unprecedented scale to the western drone industry for the first time.“ said Lorenz Meier, CEO of Auterion.
Some key specs of Skynode S:
- NDAA Compliant
- Standard 30.5mm x 30.5mm 4-hole mounting
