October marks the start of Mental Health Month! This year’s theme, "Let’s Talk About It," encourages open conversations about mental health and wellbeing for everyone, including children and young people. As an educator it is not your role to diagnose mental health conditions. Instead it’s your role to notice changes in behaviour, know when to be concerned, and know where to refer to for help. Explore the Be You Mental Health Continuum to learn more about what to notice and how to offer the right support: https://lnkd.in/g4siqnk7 #MentalHealthMonth #LetsTalkAboutIt #BeYou

This October, for Mental Health Month, Beyond Blue invites educators to host a Big Blue Table. Bring your workplace together, share a meal, and start meaningful conversations to help raise funds for those facing anxiety, depression, and suicide. Around 3.4m people in Australia live with anxiety, and nearly half of us will experience a mental health condition in our lifetime. Let’s ensure that no one struggles alone. Big Blue Tables can be all shapes and sizes, from tea and biscuits with your colleagues, to a potluck in your learning community. Hosts receive a free host kit with conversation starters, decorations, and more to help you create a safe space where everyone feels comfortable talking about mental health. Funds raised (your donation) will go towards the Beyond Blue Support Service which provides 24/7 free counselling, advice and referrals via phone 1300 22 4636, webchat or email for anxiety, depression, and suicide prevention.
