National Business Manager - Grocery

Job Description

We’re entering a high-growth phase in our supermarket division having recently entered a number of new segments. We’re looking for a National Business Manager to lead, manage and grow one of our largest customers.

As the NBM you will have full responsibility for driving our sales strategy for our customer. This role comes with full P&L management to deliver growth for us and our customer.

At the end of the first year, success would mean building a strong team, achieving sales and net margin targets within specified volume, delivering on trade spend budgets and executing brand strategies across major retail customer group.

What are we looking for?

• Significant sales and account management experience;
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a passion for building effective teams;
• Previous experience working with Coles/Woolworths at senior levels;
• Strong commercial and financial acumen;
• Proven success in managing accounts, selling and closing deals;
• A successful track record in negotiating successful outcomes and issue resolution;
• Existing business and customer relationships within FMCG;
• Outstanding communication, presentation and persuasive skills;
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement long-term strategies to grow the grocery business;
• Build and cultivates a high-performing team environment across account and marketing to deliver the sales plan;
• Build deep customer intelligence and nurture a strong network with key stakeholders;
• Preparation for range reviews, presentation and execution with the customer;
• Effective internal cross-functional stakeholder management (Supply, Demand, Production, Category, Finance, Marketing).
• Achieve ranging and distribution of VFB products
• Negotiating promotional margin structure, funding and plans to delivery sales and net margin
• Develop formal category plans to achieve growth;
• Develop collaborative relationships across multiple levels and departments
• Prepare and lead account negotiations;
• Full P&L responsibility.
