Core banking modernization or replacement programs are one of the greatest challenges faced by banks. In recent years, many banks across the world have been transforming themselves and the implementation of new core banking solutions are often the centerpiece of transformation programs. Core Banking replacement or modernization requires massive investment by Banks and in the current economic situation we believe that in addition to key business drivers such as
improved customer service, faster speed to market and improved product manufacturing capabilities it is just as important to take full advantage of the cost optimization opportunity that such a program creates for the banks thus improving financial performance and capital efficiency. In this paper we take a look at the business case for core banking modernization, current market trends in this area, a reference architecture for core banking solutions and the strategic &
implementation challenges faced by banks in adopting a new core banking solution.
