On August 21st, the Settlement Services Processes and Guide was successfully launched—a South East Melbourne & Peninsula initiative developed by a collaborative working group known as the Settlement Leading Network Partners (SLNP). This guide aims to bridge the gap in service delivery for migrants and new arrivals within the region, supporting service providers in better assisting the migrant community with their transition into Australia.   The SLNP includes representatives from: - South Eastern Melbourne and Peninsula Local Jobs Program: Employment Facilitator Sean Teer and Support Officer Katie Sheargold - Services Australia: Multicultural Service Officer Malcolm McCormick - WISE Employment: WFA Employment Services Provider Mary Gyurcsik - South East Community Links: Settlement Practitioners Ruwanthi Mudannayaka and Sana Hassan - Chisholm Institute: Vocational Advisor Kylie Reid   The launch event was a great success, receiving positive feedback and generating strong interest in using the guide to improve service delivery. Our WISE Strathpine office warmly welcomed our Arabic-speaking customers for a morning tea, where they shared inspiring stories and enjoyed delicious foods from their home countries, Iraq and Syria. Events like this, along with activities such as arts and crafts, provide a great opportunity for our teams to connect with customers beyond employment support and build a sense of community for those who speak English as a second language. The team received positive feedback from the day and is excited to host more events in the future!

It was a fantastic day at the Be Deadly Jobs Fair in Thornbury, VIC! WISE Employment Armadale recently hosted a Winter Warmer Community event, bringing together customers and the community for a morning tea and the distribution of food hampers, blankets, and cosy scarves and beanies.
