Working on a massive project like Western Sydney Airport is pretty cool, but doing it with your Dad is even better! ✈ Happy Father's Day to Peter (Jacko) and son Nathan Wright! They have been working on the BMD/Seymour Whyte joint venture AeroWest Landside project with their Wallacia based plumbing and civil business. 'The area really needs this project, and it's so good to see Western Sydney get the attention and investment it deserves' said Nathan - who actually employs his Dad! 'Nathan is the boss! He's a good boss though, and doesn't go easy on me. I'm very proud of him and the difference we are making here in Western Sydney' said Peter. 'It's such a special area. This year Western Sydney International Airport is celebrating #WearitPurpleDay in a number of ways 💜   We’re proudly flying the Pride flag at the WSI Experience Centre to acknowledge that we’ve joined the Welcome Here Project by ACON!   The #WelcomeHereProject supports businesses and organisations to create and promote environments that are visibly welcoming and inclusive of #LGBTIQ+ people. We have put up welcome here stickers across all our WSI offices, site offices and the Experience Centre to proudly indicate our commitment to being a welcome, safe and inclusive place for staff, visitors and the wider community. This builds on the positive responses that our own people have had while wearing the Pride lanyards and pins while interacting with the community, especially with younger members of the community. Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport will provide a world-class shopping precinct for travellers when we open our doors in late 2026, and today we are excited to share that we have released a tender for a duty-free retail partner to set up shop at WSI ✈️ 🛍️ Retailers who have completed an extensive registration of interest have now been invited to tender to become WSI's duty-free retail partner. Western Sydney is already home to 1 in 11 Australians and growing. We are focused on ensuring that our retail partner champions customer engagement while providing a distinctive experience that reflects this unique part of Australia. 2,200 square metres of duty-free space will be available inside the international portion of our terminal - which will provide a premium experience for customers and access to world renowned brands while incorporating a localised flavour. Our broader retail area will have 7,000 square metres of retail space for customers to enjoy. This includes more than 40 retail stores and our duty-free space. Tenders for other retail categories including foreign exchange, travel essentials, general retail, food and beverage and vending will be undertaken in the next 12 months. 2026 isn't too far away, and WSI is beginning to take shape.    An exciting opportunity is now open for interested parties to register their interest in operating the carparks at Western Sydney International Airport.   WSI will provide a range of options for car parking to enable more choice and value for customers, enable 24/7 access to services 365 days of the year and to provide best in class carpark products and services.    The carparks form part of the integrated ground transport plan for WSI to facilitate easy access to the new gateway to Western Sydney.   The opportunity includes overall operational management of the passenger terminal car parks at the airport, including the provision of valet services.   The Registration of Interest (ROI) is now open for WSI to identify suitably qualified operators to participate in the Request for Proposal (RFP).    Interested parties who can demonstrate satisfaction of minimum requirements in the ROI may be invited to participate in the RFP later in 2024.   To lodge your registration of interest, visit https://lnkd.in/gPpWQVWx by 18th September 2024 at 1500 AEST. WSI 🤝 Singapore Airlines Connecting Western Sydney to the world in 2026 ✈🌏 #WSI #WesternSydney

We are excited to share the news that we have secured an agreement with our first international airline - premium carrier Singapore Airlines ✈️ This strategic partnership is a fantastic milestone for us, and a real vote of confidence for Western Sydney and Sydney's first 24-hour International Airport. It's also great news for travellers! 🧳 This agreement unlocks unprecedented opportunities to travel the world directly from Western Sydney. Our late-night departure capability, for instance, would allow Singapore Airlines' business travellers to finish a full day's work in Sydney, take an overnight flight and arrive in Singapore before their first morning meeting the very next day. With construction more than 80% complete including the recent completion of our terminal roof, and this announcement today - Western Sydney can really get a sense of their future airport and the experience they will have flying from WSI when we open in late 2026. The roof has gone up, and the cranes have come down! 🏗️ After nearly three years of hard work on site, the cranes used to put together our terminal have been removed.
