Great to see Cloud Grow using WaterUps Tree Reservoirs to support the lemon myrtle trees in Hamilton. 🌿 By integrating our wicking system, these trees now draw water naturally, reducing maintenance and promoting healthy growth. It’s an excellent example of how smart water management can enhance urban greening and sustainability. #WaterConservation #UrbanGreening #Sustainability #TreeReservoir #WaterUps #SmartWatering
Over a year ago, Cloud Grow partnered with the Hamilton Business Improvement Association to solve a challenge with their beautiful lemon myrtle trees. These trees, planted in large mosaic planters, were suffering from inconsistent watering schedules. The result? Sometimes they were overwatered—leading to unnecessary costs—and at other times, they were under-watered, causing stress, wilting, and browning leaves. Our Solution 💡 We installed a wicking system in the base of the planters, allowing the trees to naturally draw up water as needed. Along with this, we integrated advanced technology: +Water level sensors to monitor the wicking cell levels. +A soil probe to track soil moisture and temperature. +Ambient air temperature sensors to gauge the environment. +An on-site blue indicator light that alerts staff when watering is required and switches off once the reservoir is refilled for easy, visible monitoring. Smart Monitoring 📊 Through the Cloud Grow platform, the team was given access to a user-friendly dashboard where they could monitor all the critical parameters in real time. Plus, the system sends email alerts when the wicking cells need refilling, and if soil moisture reaches a critical low, an escalated alert ensures quick action to prevent plant stress. The Results 🌱 +Healthier, thriving trees 🌿 — Over a year later, the lemon myrtle trees are flourishing. +Reduced maintenance costs 💧 — No more unnecessary watering and contractor fees. +Peace of mind ✅ — The automated system, combined with the on-site blue light indicator, makes it easy to keep everything in check, ensuring the green infrastructure stays vibrant and healthy year-round. With Cloud Grow, the Hamilton Business Improvement Association now has a smart, efficient, and cost-effective way to keep their green spaces in prime condition. #GreenInfrastructure #SmartTechnology #Sustainability #UrbanGreening #WaterManagement #CloudGrow #EfficientMaintenance

It's wonderful to see the Total Property Services Group embracing GreenAir’s Edible Garden Initiative! At WaterUps, we are thrilled that our wicking system is playing a key role in this green transformation. Our innovative wicking systems are designed to simplify gardening, making it more efficient and sustainable—perfect for busy workplaces. It's inspiring to see employees getting involved in planting and harvesting, fostering team spirit and learning skills they can take home. We look forward to seeing these gardens flourish through the seasons and to the many benefits they will bring to your team.
Total Property Services Group taking on our Edible Garden Initiative. This initiative brings edible greenery to commercial areas and workplaces, creating opportunities for our clients to engage in new team activities, form bonds outside of the office, and get involved with the planting and harvesting of herb and vegetable beds at work; skills they can bring home to their families. Our mission at GreenAir is to breathe life into space with greenery and connect people to nature so team members can thrive. It’s great to see Total Property Services Group creating this environment for their staff. As part of our presentation, we introduced the WaterUps® Wicking System. This is where the Raised Garden Beds have a reservoir of water beneath the soil that waters the plants - rather than from the top. They require a lot less watering - perfect for the busy workplace. As winter approaches, Ezra spoke about the Autumn and Winter planting - how to harvest, the variety of edibles planted and the positioning of the plants to promote healthy insects, maximum pollination and the differences between good bugs and bad bugs. We will work with the Total Property Services team each month to focus on harvesting, replanting and how we can get the maximum produce according to the season. We look forward to springtime; BBQ season will be kicking off and their garden will be flourishing - the team will be able to relish the fruits of their labour. 🌱 🥗 🌞

Fear-marketing in the environmental space does not work long-term. It gives people the shock value but makes them feel weak and powerless. Climate change is already overwhelming. What people really need is actionable steps or solutions they can integrate into their lives, slowly. Sustainable marketing can be honest about the problem and give shock factor, but it should always try to follow up with actionable answers. Some brands I like that do this well. 1. Water Ups - saves 80% of water in garden beds 2. Plastics For Change - uses ethical recycling to reduce pollution and change lives 3. Circular Farms - connects buyers with farmers to help farms reduce up to 30% of their unused produce You can definitely highlight the problem, but the solution is always required too!

Reduce water consumption by up to 80%. 📉 Earlier this year, a comparison was made between young trees that grew freely with standard watering and plants that were irrigated from below with WaterUps Reservoirs. The research was conducted at Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) and observations were made over a period of 4 months. Traditional irrigation required 48 maintenance visits, using 480 L of water per tree. In contrast, trees equipped with WaterUps required only 16 maintenance visits, using only 160L of water per tree. This significant difference highlighted the ability of the WaterUps system to drastically reduce water consumption by up to 80% and emphasized its role in minimizing evaporation and optimizing direct water delivery to the roots. #BERA #WaterUps #water #plants #greenery #vegetables

Thanks for sharing Ezra Alexander. It's great to see our wicking systems having an impact in NZ and enhancing work spaces!
Really excited to install our first lot of raised beds for a commercial client. It’s hard to take care of edible gardens in work spaces as staff get busy and the plants die due to lack of watering. Well to counter this problem we have added water reservoir systems WaterUps® to each garden. These hold onto 136L of water in the base reservoir and the water is wicked up through the soil using capillary action. This will be enough water to see your plants get through those busy days where you just can’t make it outside. Looking forward to installing many more of these. GreenAir

We're excited about our European expansion! Big thanks to Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) and tradestart for their invaluable support. Their help in connecting us with BERA B.V. is opening new opportunities for our sustainable gardening solutions. Here's to future successes and a more sustainable planet! 🌱🌍
Aussie sustainability business WaterUps® is making a splash in Europe! This #EarthDay, dive into the fascinating business of #wicking; the scientific principle of drawing up water into the soil close to the roots of plants to ensure they are watered where they need it most. #WaterUps’ gardening and landscaping products have taken the age-old concept and turned it into a thriving, #sustainability-focused business.🌿💧 As a result, trees and other plants grow faster thanks to the constant moisture levels in the soil, leading to yields – whether tomatoes or trees – typically 30–50% higher. Another sea-riously impressive stat; its products use up to 80% less water than spray or surface drip irrigation. WaterUps is now taking its innovative products to the world. Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) connected the company to Dutch gardening and landscaping giant BERA BV, who is distributing its products across #Europe. WaterUps sent one container of products to Rotterdam in February and has already received a second container order.
