Volunteering Queensland is delighted by the appointment of Ann Leahy MP as the new Minister for Local Government and Water and the Minister for Fire, Disaster Recovery, and Volunteers. Ms Leahy has been a passionate advocate and supporter of volunteering for many years, and it is fitting that she becomes the first Minister to hold this title in Queensland. Volunteers provide critical community services and their contribution often goes unnoticed. This is a significant step in recognising and supporting our amazing volunteers. Ann Leahy is photographed at the Queensland Volunteering Awards 2022.
