Over the past 14 years we have partnered with the Starlight Children's Foundation Australia to grant more than 3,000 wishes for seriously ill children and their families. Recently, we hosted six Starlight children who are passionate aviators at our Brisbane Airport Training Centre to learn more about the training requirements for our Cabin Crew and Pilots. The experience not only gave the children hope in their journey to full health but inspired them to be the next generation of our industry. It’s an honour to support in making these dreams a reality, and we look forward to being a part of more lifetime memories as we continue to work with Starlight on its wish granting program. To mark the launch of our new Uluru services, we engaged the star power of ARIA award-winning performer, Budjerah. Singing his aptly named song, Ready for the Sky, against the backdrop of one of Australia's most recognisable cultural landmarks, provided the perfect moment to market this incredible destination to Australia and the world. Our new services to Uluru from Melbourne and Brisbane have added 62,000 great value seats to the Red Centre each year, contributing to Australia's more than $6bn indigenous tourism economy, while providing more choice and competition for consumers. Thanks to our partners Tourism NT, Northern Territory Government, Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia and Tourism Australia. #VirginAustralia #Uluru

We are proud to be expanding our sponsorship of the AFL - Australian Football League to include the coveted 'Mark of the Year' competition. To celebrate, Captain Darren Gray and Melbourne Football Club player and aspiring pilot, Steven May, traded experiences in their fields, showcasing the precision of flying and playing sport. We have been the official airline partner of the AFL since 2011, transporting players, coaches, league officials and support staff on more than 5,000 flights (or 183,000 seats), carrying more than 3,600 tonnes in club cargo in that time, while sharing the magic of the game all over the country. We are proud to have launched services between Melbourne, Brisbane and Uluru, adding more than 62,000 great value seats each year to Australia’s Red Centre. Uluru is an incredibly important destination for Virgin Australia as one of the most iconic cultural landmarks in Australia and a much-loved place for holiday makers to visit from all over the world. Through our partnerships with the world’s leading international airlines, our new services connect Uluru to more than 600 destinations around the globe, creating a new seamless gateway of travel for Australians and international visitors alike. To celebrate, more than 80 stakeholders from the worlds of government, tourism, media, sport, beauty and fashion attended a launch event at Ayers Rock Resort’s famous Wintjiri Wiru platform last week, generating hundreds of pieces of media and social media coverage of Uluru, which contributes to the nation’s more than $6bn indigenous tourism economy. We look forward to continuing to expand our network, providing more choice, value, and opportunities for Velocity Frequent Flyer members to earn and redeem Points. Thank you to our partners Tourism NT, Northern Territory Government, Tourism Australia, Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia, Melbourne Airport, Brisbane Airport Corporation and gotoskincare. #VirginAustralia #Uluru Virgin

Hot on the heels of being announced as Australia’s most punctual and reliable major airline, today we have launched a Velocity Frequent Flyer Status Match offer encouraging members of competing airline loyalty programs to ‘hop’ on over to instantly receive better value and rewards when they fly with us. It comes after we delivered a post-COVID record for both on-time performance and cancellations, with more than 82 per cent of flights departing on time and our completion of scheduled flights over 98 per cent in April. It takes a village to get a flight up in the air on time, with more than 50 of our wonderful operational team involved in every departure. We congratulate them for working together to simplify our growing operations and improve our resilience in managing factors that are out of our control.
