After a successful 2024 pilot series in the Gippsland region, we're thrilled to announce that Top Class Regional is returning to Traralgon and extending its reach as it adds Bendigo to the mix in 2025! 🎊 Top Class concerts offer a masterclass to current VCE and VCE VET performing arts students studying VCE Dance, Drama, Theatre Studies and Music studies, and VCE VET Dance and Music. Top Class Regional concerts will feature a condensed program of performers from across the metropolitan Top Class concerts and be emceed by a VCE curriculum expert. Following the presentation of works, the audience is invited to join artists in an open discussion regarding their work, learnings, and the process they experienced to achieve their high score. Tickets will be available exclusively on the venue websites beginning in December. Flashback to when we attended the 2024 VCE Transnational Conference, along with Firbank Grammar School, Thomas Carr College and Caroline Chisholm Catholic College. At the conference, our Curriculum Executive Director, Jason Smallwood presented on global pathways for students through the VCE curriculum, and showcased the work we do in elevating the profile of education in Victoria 🎓 Also in attendance were 20 VIPs from the Chinese and Australian government, and representatives from universities across Australia. Celebrating the 70th Victorian Training Awards! 🎉 Congratulations to 2024 Victorian Training Awards winner, Alicia Farr for taking the crown for the School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year Award category 👏 During her school-based apprenticeship, Alicia plunged into teaching young children water safety techniques. She recently completed a Certificate III in Aquatics and Community Recreation through LEISURE EMPLOYMENT AUSTRALIA PTY LTD and Chisholm Institute. The Victorian Training Awards were held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, and celebrated the outstanding achievement and incredible talent of Victoria’s vocational training sector. Minister for Skills and #TAFE, Hon. Gayle Tierney MP announced the winners, acknowledging the outstanding achievement of students. We are proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership between Monash University School of Mathematics and the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA). This collaboration will see our mathematicians play a pivotal role in reviewing the 2024 VCE maths exams and play a key role in writing them from 2025 onwards. From 2025, these academics will also be part of the panels writing VCE Mathematics examinations, including for Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods and General Mathematics. This partnership highlights our commitment to the quality of mathematics examinations in Victoria, ensuring students are provided with the best opportunity to be assessed fairly on the skills they have attained during their VCE.
